All good things must end

2001 20th Anniversary We've owned this car for 23 years. 400,000 miles. Pulled out onto the highway and it felt like it popped out of gear. Suddenly I had a box full of neutrals. Now have a low grinding from the transmission, even in park.
It's been a great car but I'm afraid the repair cost would greatly exceed the value of the car.

Used auto trans is $450-$600. Swap it in and keep driving! At this point no one should care about the value of the car since they are worth next to nothing to the public and almost everything to us Maxima enthusiasts.

Go here and pick up your replacement transmission while celebrating 400K miles out of the original one.

I'm not interested in swapping transmissions. If there is anyone in the Pacific Northwest interested in the car reach out to me. Cosmetically it's in very good shape for it's vintage.
