tinting prices

an auto shop $125 for tinting all side windows and rear windsheild, all done within 1.5 hours.

is this a good price? i was going to do it myself, but at this price it almost doesn't seem worth it...

thanks

What % tint are you getting usually that kind of price is for the legal tint which sometimes is just as good as having no tint.

30% block, which is what's legal in nyc. i don't want anything too heavy...just something to cut out uv...to maintain interior...to give it a mysterious look

thanks for reply.

I paid 125$ for the whole car, for any %. This also included a life time warrenty. I say go for it. Also, don't tint all the way to the top of the rear window.

There is a whole nother trend on your question already... Some say the tint won't cure completely because of the dots, so don't tint it may cause bubbles later. I didn't get them to tint over my dots it looks better that way

most of the 5th gener tinted over the top... I had mine done 1 year ago.. been through CA sun and Michigan cold... nothing has happen to it... 125 is ok price if the tint is dyed base.. REALLY good price for metalic base tint.. make sure you get something metalic (so the tint don't turn purple later) and lifetime warrenty.. don't use windex to clean the tint also

Hey just my opinion when i got my 2k max i went here, BEst Sound Security and Performance on northern blvd, close to francis lewis blvd. if your familiar with the area. I paid almost 200 if not that but they did a very very good job, cleaned the leather of my back seats and the rear piece was one whole piece. i would check it out first though, i hear the are getting very cocky and arrogant, and fugged my friends legend all up.
sorry no phone #, check yahoo yellow pages, fresh meadows ny.
good luck

Well if to cut out the UV is all you're looking at then you don't need tint at all. The Maxima's glass is already factory "green" tinted.

In fact that thing blocks out UV and keeps the interior + glass cooler. Once you put a dark tint on it the window will feel unusually hot now (because dark absorbs more heat).

if you can afford it.. get metalic base.. actually you shouldn't get Dyed base.. it will turn purple after a while... dye base is cheap..
mine is actually metallic.. but you can't tell..mine hs some reflection on it.. but not a whole lot... and make sure after you get it done.. don't touch it for 1 week, so the glue(or whatever they use) can dry properly, and don't use Windex on it.... and don't let them tell you that... metalic will give you bad radio reception.. it doesn't... plus who listen to radio anyway...
let me know if you want pic.. I can e-mail you some pic

window tint

so i'm calling around about tinting the windows on my MAX and found this place that's charging $160 for a metallic based "HPC" tint. i'm no expert on tints, but does this stand for high performance charcoal? is this an actual brand or type of tint, and is it legit?

much thx.. drudawg

unless u've done ur own tints before, i wouldn't recommend doing it. for that price, it's damn cheap. cheapest place that i know in atlanta is $150 and they just raised the price up to $175. but they do use good madico film.

I bought my own tint for $19.99 and did it myself. It really isn't that hard. Takes a little patience but can be done. I have done this many times. My current car (94 Maxima), my prvious car (90 Stanza) and several other cars as well. And never have I had bubbles. It always looked just as good as the shops. I didn't even use a heat gun. I'm sure if I had a heat gun, I could have done it faster. I can do it in about an hour now. Actually gonna do my sister's Baretta this weekend.

That's true, the " matrix" those little dots will cause the tint to bubble over a period of time so it's best to have the tint started just below the matrix.

Does that also include a strip across the front windshield? Also is the rear one piece? If the answer is yes then thats a helluva deal.

Yes, one piece rear and no that does not include the strip across the windshield. Every other piece of glass though.

How did you get them to tint it for $175 if the original price is $225? Also is this price good at all Boomer McClouds or just the one in CT? Thanks.

It's all in how you talk to these guys at retail places and probably because this would be my fourth car being done by them. I get this type of luck nearly everywhere. Got the new $400 Motorola V60 for free from Verizon..This fine a** girl took care of me. I could go on but, ... u know.

I got mine for $150 and they are 5% all around! Actually, I got lucky and really didn't pay the $150 but traded something of equal value.
