5th Gen AGX's
Hey All,
I had inquired about the 5th Gen AGX's via Cattman's website,
I just got a reply from Brian Catts with a quote of $570 plus shipping
this was inclusive of $450 for the struts $35ea for the mounts,
and $50 for boots and bump/stops...........and there is a little wait on these.
I know he was offering the 4th Gen for a special under $350
So if you can get a Group Deal under $570+ shipping count me in

I would love the AGX, but I don't want to lower the car with new springs. Will the AGX work and last with stock springs?

BAD NEWS GUYS
according to Brian, because demand is already so high for the KYB's for the 5th gen he will not be willing to let us do a group deal.
In other words......too many people have informed Cattman of their
desire to own these things even if they are f*cking expensive as hell.
So he'd rather have everyone buy them individually so he can make a
nice profit for himself.
Of course I don't blame him (business is business) but how about we all boycott this product so he is forced to either bring down the price or let us in on a group deal.
Brian also claims to have a large number of people who have preordered this product. For those of you who have already pre-ordered
would you be willing to retract your orders?
what do you guys think? Am I being a stupid for even suggesting that we boycott?
Or do you guys think we should just say "f*ck it" and spend our hard earned money on these overpriced struts.
I'll follow the general consensus.

Has anybody noticed that Shox.com is telling people that they will ship the ACTUAL KYB AGX (and GR-2) for the 5th gen this summer. If you really want them, why not just wait for the unmodified version?

KYB's for 5th Gen
Hey,
Having contacted Brian prior to this attempt at a GD, the price he quoted me for a set of 4 modified 4th Gens was $450 this being
approx $100 over the price he's offering the non-mod types. He can charge this as KYB is dragging their feet on bring a 5th Gen model to market.
I wonder if we can put our collective heads together to petition or influence KYB to expetdite production. Not only a collection of names off this site but any other Maxima site or forum and or newsgroup, I'd just as soon pay the Company for a set of struts @ MSRP than get a set of mod struts that may or may not come with the manufacturer's warranty.
this is a thought I've tossed around and may be worth a try
what do you guys think?

KYB GR-2 $329.00, Due summer 2002
KYB AGX $409.00, Due summer 2002
That is the price shox.com will sell them at this summer. I would guess those prices wouldn't have been quoted to me unless KYB had provided, at the very least, a target date for production.
