Rust in bottom of trunk
Rust in bottom of trunk
I live in Montreal Canada, so lot of salt during winter. I opened the trunk today and I noticed some rust just below the middle of the trunk, indicating that the paint has been removed (probably the trunk is too tight to the metal and is slowly removing the paint).
I remember having seen some thread talking about this on this forum last year, but I can't find it. So I went to the TSB site, but nothing there, except for a link to the NHTSA site. Went there, and I found a reference to the problem, but I would have to pay to get the info
I want to go back to the dealer knowing if this is covered by warranty (I have a 2k Max with 30K mi.) and also what they are supposed to do to clear the problem.
Anyone can help?

I am from Montreal too, wlecome to the board. Go to the Canada forum (id=38) I just posted the Canadian recall site, though as of 2 days ago there were no recalls for the 2000 Max.
I have rust comming out from under my hood and from the welding joints in the trunk (IN the trunk, no way shape or form this is a ding / rock /whatever crack... paint cracked open), not impressive.
I will be pulling the trunk lining out of my car this weekend to check this. I am at 58800 so I have to find it now.
Who is your dealer? I bought from Gouverneur in Laval, bunch of scam artists. I got some work done at Longueuil Nissan (next to P&W) and the service was better, but not excelent.
