Tranny Clunk!

Tranny Clunk!
Those of you with auto trannies. If you accelerate hard and spin the wheels with TCS "on" does your motor stop then go again as soon as the wheels stop spinning and make a loud clunk? Like out of gear then slamming back into gear? Both of my trannies have done this, it can't be good for it. I just wish the TCS was default OFF. I turn it off everytime I drive the car but forget sometimes then have this problem.

my car...
has been occasionally neutral dropping itself for 2 years now. One of my favs is when you come to a rolling stop (or come to a stop for less than a second or two). Give it some gas and you are still in second. Hit about 4000 RPM and it decides you should be in first. *BAMMMM*. it's quite upsetting to hear.
If thats what you are seeing, it's actually a feature :/ (staying in second because the car has enough torque that usually you wont notice). 4th gens do this too.

True, except that I am running on stock 17" rims.... I think it has more do do with the programming on the TCS than anything else. To reduce the abruptness of the shift, would a synthetic ATF make a difference? Any thoughts on Redline or Amsoil?
