6 Speed HLSD Transmission

Does anyone know if the 6 speed tranny in the 02 SE Max is the same as the SE-R Spec V transmission?

Probalby not, completely diff. engines, and 3.5 tranny has to be more meaty to compensate for the added torque.

I thought they might be different, but would Nissan really want to pay for the development of 2 different 6 speed trannies?

The articles I've seen said they share the transmission.

Man, if they do share trannies, that spec V could push out alot more power though it than it does stock.

i highly doubt they have the same tranny.. i sat in the spec v when i went to pick-up my 2k2 6 speed maxima and i can tell u that the spec v's tranny feels much more notchy/rubbery than my 6sp maxima. Though i havent driven the spec v.. only sat in it.. i cant tell u if the **** **** is looser when engaged in teh gears.

Did you get the Tranny with the HLSD in it though? That's the transmission I am talking about.
