Bike/Ski Rack

I'm looking for a good rack to put on top of my car (keep the smart remarks to yourself). I had one for my Honda for the trunk, but it screwed up the alignment of the trunk. I see the Nissan makes one, but how about Thule or any other brand? I want one that fits well and won't allow my bike to fly off.

Thanks
Steve

Yakima and Saris also good (I have Yakima). Do a search. There has been several threads that discuss this very topic at legnth.

Have you considered a tow hitch setup?

I have a tow hitch setup. I love it. When not in use, you can't even tell I have one. Also, it was a little bit cheaper. About 100 bucks less overall.

I have the tow hitch setup also. I am very happy with this setup and it is nearly invisible when not in use. I store the rack in my trunk when not in use. Some tow hitch bike racks can also carry skis with the proper attachments.

Thanks guys...I hadn't really given the tow hitch thing a lot of thought. I'm gonna call around and look into it.

Thanks

A few weeks ago, I bought a Thule Ski rack.... Fits like a glove on my 2k1. Only thing is that it's noisy because of the wind, and I guess it's thougher on the mileage (wind resistance). I tough about buying the fairing, but I designed one by myself (25$ of stuff at HomeDepot instead of 100$)...

For the bikes, I will definitely go for the tow hitch setup. Much much easier to handle the bikes. For the ski/snowboard, I put them on the top. I also consider buying a top box (Thule Evolution is my choice), but my wife said NO (many of you understand that !!!).

So maybe next month, or the other, or the other......

I debated all of the options for a hauling my bike last summer and decided the hitch was the best way to go, you can pretty much rule out scratching your car and when you dont have your bikes with you its not noticable to others, keeps the max looking clean
