HELP Rattle near steering column????

HELP I have a rattle near steering column or in the dash on the drivers side. NO...it is not my keys. It happens while I am driving on ruff roads (which is almost everywhere in NJ). Anyone else have this problem on a 2000? It is starting to drive me crazy!
Thanks

Press against the top left side of your stereo when you go over bumps. More than likely this is the culprit for the noise your hearing.

Is this rattle to the left of the steering column or to the right? If its to the left, on my car, the little defost vent (or whatever it is that is above the driver side vent) was not bolted to the plastic hose (good quality control) and it made a metallic rattle noise (even though it is all plastic). I had to take out the instrument cluster to discover this. We probably had the same dude assemble our dash that day at the plant.
