Calling all 2000-2001's with mods!

Good point there. I myself only have K&N drop in filter too and the only other mod is the clear bumper lights. I really don't know if it is worth it to even mod very much on the Maxima as i've seen people do all kind of things with there cars and only shave .5 seconds of there 1/4 mile time. That to me is just plain pointless to pay almost $800 to $1000 on all those engine mods to be a only hair quicker than you were stock. Now as far as the suspension mods I say yes get them especially if you like to take corners fast. Anyways just my 2 cents.
Ok my question is what is the biggest improvement you've seen in your car's performance whether it was 1/4 mile time or maybe certain car's you couldn't beat stock, but you can beat now with your mods. I especially would like to hear from the 2000-2001 Maxima's automagic's. No Y2KEVSE you don't apply to this thread sense you have a supercharger and we all know your fast; i'm only speaking to the all motor or N/A Maxima's. Also please no 2k2 Max's either since we also know you guys are fast stock. Remember i'm starting out with 222hp not 255hp. Please help me out; as this will help me to decide if I really want to get mods or if it's pointless.

Well, The first time I hit the track I was doing 15.6 at the end of the 1/4 mile. Look at my sig and you will see my list of mod's. After all my mod's, my best time was a 16.2. You are asking yourself, why did my time increase? The slower time was probably because my tranny was slipping like a B%tch! I just had a new tranny put in 2 days ago and once it settles in, I'm sure I should be in the low 15's. TO be honest, the best mod for the buck are surely the RSB and y-pipe.

If you are nervous

about modding your ride get an intake(Fankencar & Berk Tech. are relativaly inexpensive), save your stock airbox just in case.

I am not sure your current mileage but better tires would be the way to go. I never had a chance to put new tires on my 2001, buying a 2002, but used to have an 89 5.0 and man did good tires make a difference.

as far engine, id the biggest gain is from the y pipe without a doubt. ive got that and a k&n drop in. as far as the suspension, i dont have one yet, but the rsb seems to be the clear winner. my roommate also has a modded 97 maxima and its nice cause we get some the same mods and see the difference then the other one can go pick up the same thing. from stock, id also say tires make a great improvement on the handling of the car. so my vote would be y pipe, rsb and tires as the biggest improvments. both the y pipe and rsb can be done by yourself which is nice since you dont have to pay labor.

RSB helped A LOT. Y Pipe I hear gives real good gains. I haven't raced "all stock". I've only raced at the track with my intake. Maybe one day I will switch it up and see what the difference is.

I'm not a big racer, but here is what i've taken out so far:

1. 2000 Accord V6 with AEM intake and full exhaust.
2. Colleague's 2001 BMW 325i.
3. MB E320 (dont know the year)
4. More than 15 riced out civic's
5. 2000 Maxima with many mod's
6. New Camry (raped him on the highway)

I cant wait for my 02 M3. I plan on debadging the car then go hunting.

The car was ordered in last fall, just waiting for it to arrive. The SMG option is/was a $3000 option and i did not feel it was necessary. BTW, the car is purchased.

Possibly, but u r sacrificing engine longevity and also your warranty.
I personally think if u want a really fast car, go out and buy one that is fast from the factory.

ok when i first got my car Bone Stock i would race my friend who has a Civic SI and off the start he would get me and eventually pull away and i would end up a little behind the door. off a rolling start (60 MPH) it would stay even until about 80 and then i pull him a little

Since the mods (y-pipe, CAI, Exhaust, UDP) i get him off the start and pull ugly something i noticed due to the udp and CAI, and now i just pull him ugly and he ends up behind me, on rolling starts i KILL

overall im happy with the money i spent on these mods

My Best Mod...

Trading my automatic in for a 5-speed.

Gained about 1 second zero-sixty and a whole lot more enjoyment.
Cost: $600.

Without a trade in 600 no way.

And realy with some time an auto can be so so much better than a 5 sp.

Besides SC with smaller pulley, the best mods have to be handling mods. RSB, FSTB, and Ground Control with Koni struts are by far the best.

Can't wait to get WarpSpeed Sub Frame Connectors.

Yep.

Or buy a car that is cheap (as a "play" car) that can easily be made fast for very little $$$.
