Got My 2002 SE

Greetings,

Just picked up my 2K2 SE a few weeks ago and just now getting around to posting. So far so good, I've been impressed with the mileage so far. Based upon pump calculations, I've been getting around 27 mpg with mostly highway driving.

I bought a Grey Luster SE with sunroof and aftermarket leather (Katzkin). Total cost was 23,727 plus TTL. This included the 1000 rebate already applied. Goofs in finance also gave me the 3.9% in addition to the rebate.

I'm having a great time with the car, just dreading the day that I have to buy those 225/50/17 tires..........

Yes it comes with the 225/50/17 tires, but at about $190 a pop, you can figure about $900 when all is said and done to have them mounted, balanced, disposal fee, tax, etc.......

When you replace the tires, dont buy Potenzas again. I just replaced all my tires, with Nitto Extreme's for $100 each. They make them in 225/50/17. I like them way better than the Potenzas personally..

It sounds like you got a very good deal. Noticed that you're in Texas. What dealership did you use and did the 23,727 include sales tax as well. Pardon if I'm nosey, but I've been looking and am trying to get a handle on what to expect when I start to deal.

I'm in Houston bye-the-way. Thanks,

Also in Houston, used Mossy. The 23,727 was before tax, title and license.

Hey mdjtlj: Are u pleased with your Katzkin aftermarket leather? I am considering having it installed in my 2K2 SE. Is your leather black? My SE is Sterling Mist with black cloth, and am leaning heavily toward dark graphite Katzkin leather. Any of your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. JAKE02

Jake02,

Yes, I'm very pleased with the Katzkin leather. I've got the frost interior and chose the dove grey leather. When you order, they will give you two options on the leather, smooth or gathered, definitely go with the gathered, it makes it look much more plush.

Also, the door panels are smooth for this kit and not gathered, this is the only change I would have like at this point with it. When I had it installed, I had a pretty stiff smell of adhevsive for a few days, but it goes away.

All in all, I've found the quality of the leather to be quite good and the fit is perfect. I would have to say that I'm pleased.
