Nice!

You should post a write up in the "How To" sticky.

How hard is it to program the light for the desired RPM? How accurate is it?

Programming is a matter of reading a spreadsheet, flipping switches, and pressing buttons. SIMPLE!!
100 RPM increments. you can change shiftpoint in SECONDS. Supposed to be more accurate than stock analogue tach. There is a "How to" already. it deals with another brand shiftlight, but wires/install is identical. (5th GEN)

Alex... its cake to install, just like your light (wire-wise). In fact thats the sticky I used to install. I placed it in the visor line, ran the wires up the A-pillar across headliner, down the mirror wire guard and it sits just above my rearview mirror attached to a modified radar detector mount. Totally outta sight from the outside unless your really look in.

Programming is even easier...100RPM increments from 500-12500. In fact if you have the spreadsheet around, you can "almost" program on the fly. Takes about 5 seconds to switch the dip-switches and press the appropriate activation button.

I did notice some deviation from when the light pops on and where the tach needle was. But I have seen on the board because the tach is mechanical interpreting a digital signal it is a tad behind and thats what is seems to show from what I did.

BTW Still did not get that doggone boot out this weekend....sorry. I just can't get organized....lol.

Thanks, but I meant post a write up on how to make the custom pod and install it in the defroster vent. I've never done that before and I'm just wondering what's involved.

I was also wondering if you have to uninstall the shift light to program it once it was in the vent? It sounds like you don't since it only takes seconds to reprogram, so I'm just wondering how it's done once it's installed.

Post them pics! Also, I know how the unorganized part goes. I still haven't even installed the DAMN clips for the HIDs yet! They just look like they are gettin jiggy wit it as I drive.

Harlan POD

You need
Dremel/Sandpaper/Files/Bondo/Primer/Paint

-use your factory vent as a mount, make sure you block off the vent with a towel or something.
-cut a hole in vent to thread the light through, throw some bondo one there, let dry, then start shaping it out. make sure you aim it 1st!
-make sure it's smooth before you paint.
-wire it up
DONE!

i can easily remove the POD for reprogramming
since i'm still using the factory vent piece.

Re: Harlan POD

Is there an on/off switch? I could see my wife driving along hitting the gas and that light turning on and scaring the **** out of her and wrecking my car. Not to mention that I would want the undo attention at all times.

As for workmanship, I've seen better j/k That looks GREAT!! VENTS, I DONT NEED NO STINKIN VENTS!! How much did the light and stuff cost?

Yeah puttin in an external switch would be cake. There are 3 wires, power, ground/neutral, and RPM signal. Just interupt the power with a position switch and you would be good to go.

As for undo attention, thats why I mounted it really high. Unless it goes off at night, you wont see it from outside the car. He he he its all about the stealth game.

Re: Re: Re: Harlan POD

Amen to that brother. Thats why I chose PhantonR(supposed to be an M but I fat fingered it and was like ohwell) I went to some street races in a complex and if the cops came I could leave my car and they wouldnt suspect a thing, with it looking stock and all.

Any idea on how much this stuff costs and where I could get it?

Thanks,
Jeff
