I have the Place Racing

I got it from APEX Motorsports they always get things cheaper then the manufacturer.

Their # is 480-967-6515. Ask for Andy and mention T.J. bought a place racing intake from him and see what he can get it for.

I like mine, its not like the dumb short air intakes this one goes down in the fender. I took my fog light housing out so it sucks it in from there.

Good luck.

Get it from either Cattman.com for $190
Or get it from Custommaxima.com for $210 with the new Monster filter.

Just a note...based on the theory that a CAI is only a CAI when the air is taken in from outside the engine bay, there is only one CAI for the Maxima and that is the PRCAI.

Otherwise, the only CAI's are custom built and OOGLIE.

Right, I just wanted to make sure maxgsxr1 understood that, in answer to his question which is the best CAI, that there really is only one unless he goes OOGLIE @ Home Depot.

Very interesting item. I just got my intake last night. Going to install it today.

The differences are on their site. They reduce turbulence and increase air flow. Patented too.

Let us know about that one. Looks really interesting, but also a big potential BS story.

Possible BS, but think about it, Place Racing is a respectable company, and if they dropped K&N for this one, im sure they did it for a good reason.

I was looking at the filter last night and it looks very very good. I mean the whole foam filter comes out and can be easily cleaned, where if you have the K&N you have to actually wash the whole cone itself. Looks solid to me. I will take pics and post them for you guys.

Sounds good.. so if it reduces turbalance which in return increases air flow, then it's safe to say that it performs better then the filter then comes with the stillen/jwt?

Safe to assume that it is better than any cone filter that looks like a standard K&N style cone

I will take pics tonight and have them up.

One question PCGuru, how did you make the hole for the CAI? did you use a holesaw or a dremel? Cause I dont see how a holesaw can cut into sheet metal without destroying the holesaw cutter.

I am thinking of using a dremel, but need to get the bit to cut sheet metal with.

Dixit - I used a 3.25" holesaw/mandrel/extended drill bit combo. It worked perfectly. I don't see any other way to drill a clean hole - I'd hate to try it with a dremel! Bought all three items for $40 - I obviously don't need them anymore. You want them for $30 shipped?
