Kill a NSX-T

man, i love playing around with people. Today on the freeway, just catch a black NSX-T...i would say this car is super OEM. so i put the car around 70 mph next to it and let it know i wanna play. Finally, we raced!! We raced about 5 miles with 125 mph. he couldn't get me, he only can see my beautiful 2k2 tail light. I put the emergency light on to let it know i won. It was a nice race, but....just want more challenge....

the NSX is old now???

Peace

You've got to be kidding me; an Acura NSX-T couldn't keep up with your Maxima. According to the July 97 edition of Motor Trend magazine the NSX-T has a 0-60 time of 4.8sec and a 1/4mile of 13.4. It also has a top speed of 165mph. While the new 2k2 Maxima w/6spd and all your mods is fast it still should be no match for the NSX. I believe that the guy was not even trying; because if he was he should have blown you away and it would have been you looking at the NSX's tail light's.

I feel the same, bad. Maybe i know it sounds pretentious, but I kinda of race an neon R/T last week and got an easy kill, but I let him past me just before the lanes merges. Does that mean that it's the neon who got the kill?... Dont think so.

Sometimes, I just let go. In my mind, safety comes first. And I dont want to kill myself just for pure testosternone (and it's not that tentation is not there).....

Agreed. This reminds me on one occasion on I-5 when I ran into an NSX and a previous gen 300ZX-TT. I just wanted to see how fast the NSX was from 90-???mph. You're right, all I saw was the beautiful rear end of the NSX and the Z blowing by

So a 6-speed 2k2 Max cannot 'kill a first year auto NSX?

Guys... let's give him the benefit of the doubt here. Maybe he did bet this one NSX. That doesn't mean he can kill ALL NSXs. Maybe this guy was just toying with him, or this guy was scared to go fast. Nevertheless, let's not call him a complete liar... maybe he just has a warped sense of reality

If the NSX wasn't racing...

then it can't be called a kill!!

Both must be trying to win for a 'kill' to be even suggested.

If anytime you pass a vehicle and call it a kill...does that mean driving by a parking lot counts as 500 kills?

Perhaps.

6spd Maxima is averaging at 14.50s.

3.0 NSX auto is around 14.00-14.10s.

Now, if it's a 3.2L NSX... i would call this a BS story. but hey, i wasn't there nor do we know what engine the NSX had.

14.00-14.10?

I remember MT's 50th Anniv. placing the first year manual NSX @ 5.5 second to 60mph. I don't recall the 1/4 time at the moment.
I can only imagine that an auto NSX does mid-14s as well.

Re: BS

that's ok if u guys dont like to believe me, i did beat that NSX, well, if u guys r riding with me, i would say u can realize that car was racing. well....maybe that car is a 92 or 91, an old NSX-T....or maybe as u guys said, that car was just toying with me. just whatever, but i did have fun.

for the pic, i dont have a digit cam yet, when i got it, i will post it, this question had been asked for a while, as soon as i got the digit cam from half.com, i will post the pic. i had the special order for my PR CAI, since i live in souther CA, and PR CAI's company just like 25 mins from the place i live. Everything else, i got it directly from japan so as u know, i have to pay the heavy shipping fee, but it's worth it cuz i am the first one to have some of the mods, i feel proud for myself

Peace

You said kill in your topic yet now your saying he might have been toying with you. What exactly did you get from Japan? Your UDP? AE sides and back?? You said "everything" else what exactly are you talking about?

Yeah, the guy might have bought the body at a junkyard and dropped a 1.8L Integra engine in it.

Oh, and...in before this gets ugly.

Wouldn't it be faster with an Integra motor in it? Everything is faster with an Integra motor in it! I'm gonna pull out my VQ and put in a Integra motor

I think it's possible

MT mag NSX-T 96' 3.0v6/4A 252@6600 210@5300 0-60: 5.8 1/4: 14.3@99.3
MT mag NSX-T 97' 3.2v6/6M 290@67100 224@5300 0-60: 4.8 1/4: 13.3@106.7

If it was the 96'auto, he could have beat him/her. Being RWD, they they a better launch, hence better 0-60 and 1/4 times. So, at highway speeds, the RWD doesn't give it a time advantage on straight line accel.

I have seen some people post times of 5.8~ and 14.1~ in the 2k2 6-sp max.

The NSX (96' auto)

The reprint ID for the MotorTrend Mag is 7100. 6/95

I wouldn't call it a "kill", but it damn sure could win.

Re: I think it's possible

You cannot kill an NSX 5speed or 6speed

5speed- 3.0L 270HP
6speed- 3.2L 290HP
Sportshift 4speed- 3.0L 252HP

If this story is true, it more than likely was an automatic NSX, whether is was the "T" version or not. You must of had good vision to see if it was the "T" version. Auto NSX's, like all Honda/Acura products, are plaqued with two overdriven gears. Both 3rd and 4th gear's have a ratio's lower than a direct 1:1. You probably caught him in his 3rd gear in that race. Also, the "T" versions are heavier.

Another interesting fact, the automatic doesn't have an 8,000rpm redline.

wow no offense but why is everyone being such an ***, he posted a story, and why does everyone call BS, for those of you quoting mag times and hp numbers, look carefully at the numbers, given the right situation, its DEFINTELY possible that the Maxima won. It was MOST LIKELY a 4spd shiftronic NSX-T, regardless it was still an NSX, and the early 90s automatic NSX werent that fast, they used the 3L engine and not the 3.2, which had significantly less power.

Back when the NSX's came out .. I was suprised and the "low" level of performance of the auto 3.0L car given it's price and category.

Of course it's a blood sucking demon now!! But, I bet there are alot of NSX owners(old auto's 3.0L) who think the car is really fast because it is an NSX, they will learn.

As for everyone calling it bull before even looking at the possiblity, well that seems to be the nature of many "discussions".
