SCV Control

Anyone actually notice if the Speed Controlled Volume actually does anything on their 2k2 Max? I couldn't find a thing about it in the manual. Do the low, mid and high settings boost different frequency ranges? Could this be part of the reason why the Bose highs sound muddy?(other than the tweeters suck)

I had it on by accident for awhile...I wondered why the radio got louder when I drove faster. I have sinced turned it off as it was more anoying than anything else. I believe the Low, Med, and High refer to how much volume it adjust and how sensitive it is.

I would turn it off though...

It's documented under the radio controls. As for it functioning, there was at least one discussion on this previously. Most people found it either didn't work or wasn't worth using. I've found it to be the latter.

I believe most of the disappointment with this feature is what the sensitivity is to. It appears to be a function of vehicle speed rather than ambient noise level. So rolling down your window won't make the radio louder but speeding up will even if the road noise has not increased. And I believe the sensitivity is as someone described how much the volume is changed. Hope this helps.

Interesting thread. Our 330 has the automatic volume control feature as well. It works excellent! I sware the thing actually listens to the noise in the cabin and turns up or down the volume accordingly. Expecially when the wife starts babbling about the way I drive the car

I've also noticed that when I have the SVC on and I change a station of a track on the CD I have to hit the volume up button to bring the volume back to its original level because for some reason the SVC lowers the volume.
