I Actually did it!

I actually traded in my 2k1 auto for a 2k2 6-speed! Same car(Black on black, sunroof, cloth), different tranny.

I got the 2k2 for 700 under invoice, and as you would have immagined, i got raped on my trade-in. The deciding factor was the 3.9% apr, I saved almost 2 grand on interest! Basically I got a new Max with 23k less miles, optioned exactly the way i wanted, for the same car payment.

First impressions...

Smoother and Quieter! Noticably less road and engine noise.
Xenon Headlights! Brighter?...maybe. Cooler?...definitely!
Seats...I like the color of the 2k2 but the 2k1 were more comfortable.
Power...Haven't played around yet...only 6 miles on it!
Tranny...A bit notchey. It's the first time driving a 6-speed and 5th
gear is hard to find. I'm used to pushing to the right till
it stops then up for fifth. Now with reverse over to the
right and nothing above it, 5th is kind of hard to find. I
guess i'll have to practice.
Looks...Love the side skirts, the nose has grown on me, wish I had
the smoked tail lights of my 2k1.

Overall I am thrilled! I cant wait for it to break in so I can embarrass that S4 that's been kicking my but for over a year!

(I guess I need to change to GMAN02SE!)

I asked my dealer what it would take to get into a 6spd. while trading in my 2k1 5spd. GXE...he said since I've only owned it for a few months I would be out about $7k in Trade-in value and extra cash to get the new Max.

I'll save my money and enjoy my 2k1, thanks!!!

Congrats on your new purchase.

Might want to make a few performance modifications before you try to "embarrass" that S4.

you know i wonder if people would trade from a 2K/2K1 to a 2K2 if the engine and everything else were the same...

when the 2K3 comes out, how many 2K2 owners will lose major $$$ and trade?? heheheh.. it's all one big cycle..

How about those poort 2K4 owners when the 2K5 comes? They'll really be screwed.

Cool. Good score. One thing....

The 6 spd has a lift system to protect from 6th gear. What is your issue with getting to 5th gear? You can't go anywhere else but 5th or 6th. Have fun dood.

well when 2k1 came out there was a bunch of ppl trading in 2Ks for 2K1s, I really dunnow why-exactly the same car.
I have 10 grand left on my car, and stopped by a Nissan dealer a few mos. ago, he'd value my car 12-13K, so even if I'm 1.5 yr through with pmts, there's no way I'll keep the same pmts and get a 2k2 SE
