6 spd production

Hey all, just wondering if you all believe the 2K2 Max 6spd is a little more common than the 2K/2K1 Max 5spd? Seems a lot of people here on the org have the manual trans. I'm an owner of 2K2 6spd myself, i hunted and hunted dealers in 2000 and early 2001 ( until i heard the news of the 2K2 and soon forgot the 2K1) for a SE 5 spd to test drive with no luck of ever finding one. When i bought my 2K2 last Nov. my dealer said the 6 spd would be fairly rare (5% production). When i went in for my first service 3 weeks ago...i was surprised to see 3 Max 6spds on the lot. What do you all think?

It is hard to second guess the manufacturer but once they went to big HP I think they appealed to the performance driver.
