3000+ miles of highway bliss

I just returned from a week long Vacation in Colorado. We Left Portland on a Saturday at 8:30am and stopped in some funky little town in Idaho. Sunday shot through Wyoming then south to Denver and on into CO Springs (1323 miles). Averaged 73 miles an hour and 29.5 miles to the gallon on this leg.

Spent 5 days with family in Co.

On the return trip we went south to Pueblo Co. then west to Grand Junction, then west to Reno NV, that’s 1130 miles, averaged 76 miles an hour and got 29.9 miles per gallon. Got a late start on Sunday and made back to Portland at 7:30pm. Ended with average of 74 miles an hour and 30.5 miles per gallon.

Max speed attainted:130MPH was driving through the Great Basin
Max MPG between fillups: 30.5 / Average for whole trip: MPG: 29.7
Max miles driven in one day : 1132
Max patrol cars detected early, then spotted in one town: 5
Max cans of Coke drank between pit stops: 5
Max number of cars/trucks passed in a single shot: 1 (I’m not stupid)
Max rainfall during trip. Zero, nada, zip
Max number of contiguous days of sunshine 9 (the whole trip)
Max times wife asked to drive in a single day: seemed like 1000
Max times the wife got to drive the car: 1
Max miles the wife got to drive: 230 (Hey it is my car)

I love this car.

You drove the 1132 miles straight through, reminds me of the days when I use to drive like that from college to go home. We use to Drive from Ruston,LA to San Diego just stopping for gas and to eat and stuff, about 1650 miles!

i love driving the max on the highway, going back and forth from college to home is awesome. and i think the max number of cars i've passed in one shot on a two laner road is 8. highway 63 in middle missouri, i had to. they expected me to go 60 and my max gets pouty if she doesn't get to do at least 75...

I did that too once. I was leaving the Grand Canyon at it was starting to snow. Well, in Arizona snow freaks everyone out so they drive about 50. I got the opertunity and dropped the hammer. I pass about 4 or 5 cars with a bus in the middle. The wife was a little ****ed, but the car took it like a champ.
