did I OVER PAY for a 2001 SE fully loaded?

I paid 26,350 W/o out tax. The invoice was 26,900 the sticker was 30,500. I thought I got a good deal. I have heard from some people that they got a couple of grand off of invoice. I also got the 3.9% financing which helped. Carsdirect.com best price was 26,450. I bought the car in SEPT 2001. Did I pay to much? and what did other 2001 SE fully loaded owners pay for theirs?

I am thinking that you paid a bit too much. I bought my Anniversary Edition SE, fully loaded, over a year ago for about $900 more. It depends on where you are, different regions have different price points, but the 2K1 hit the streets almost 18 months ago...you should have gotten a more significant price break.

February 1st I bought my brand new, fully loaded, 2001 Nissan Maxima SE. They were asking somewhere around $27,000, with the sticker a little bit higher in price (the car only had 60 miles on it). I told them that I could almost get a 2002 for almost the same price and talked them down to a little less than $25,000.

Mine wasn't quite fully loaded (cloth) non-bose, but single disc CD player, etc... sticker was $26,900, I paid $23,900 @ 3.9%

Maybe some...

Not sure of all the options on yours, sounds like you have most of them...

Got my AE in Feb 2001 for $27,000...including the Meridian, etc. Sticker was over $30,000. I did not get that low a financing but may APR isn't that much higher.

I would say I am not upset since I got it at the outset of the model run (more or less)...since yours was so close to the 2002's hitting the streets, you should have gotten better...in effect, since 2002's were right around the corner, you pretty much bought a car with a full model year depreciation without having had the fun of the car for that year.

Unless one hell of a model closeout deal, that is why I buy cars around Jan-Mar of any given year...enough months in to get away from dealer markup just 'cuz a model is 'new' but not far enough along for the car to be 'last year's style' before I even take it home.

BUT...if you like it and are having fun...

WHO THE HELL CARES?!?!

too late now to worry about it so go out and play!

Yup

I think I might have overpaid a little for my fully-loaded 99 SE 5spd that I picked up a month ago - used obviously. But given its mint condition and the fact that it was fully loaded I don't feel too bad, esp. since all of the other used 4th Gen Max's in my area were literally beat to hell!

Just have fun and enjoy the ride

Base

I got the cheapest GXE available (only options being floor mats and mud guards) at the same dealership as Spudskier and I paid $20,324 w/ 3.9% financing back in September, 2001.

And I mean CHEAP, dammit...I had a freakin CASSETTE player!!!!

Re: Maybe some...

Yes I got every option available to this car plus it was an auto. I wanted a 2002 but at that time they were not offering 3.9%. Nothing i can do about it now but enjoy it.

I live in NY, Long Island and I did some extensive research. I got a 2001 SE, Sunlit sand, cloth, with the C&C package. No leather, but with the 17 rims/cargo net, etc. I got a price of $23,450 w/o tax. I thought I got an excellent deal for this car. No other dealer on the island could even come close to this deal. I bought my car in May 2001 but here's was the catch. I didn't have a choice in color, but i was happy with Sunlit Sand. Driving home, my dad opened up the glove compartment and took out the delivery sheet from the factory. They had this car sitting in the warehouse/lot since Sept 2000! So, this car was sitting around for 9-10 months. I guess I did get a good deal....and everything runs fine.

Everything but Leather...out the door for 23,500 (Tax, tag and title included) picked it up the day 2K2's were being delivered to the lot....timing is everything if you want a good deal. HEck they even had to go to another dealer to get the car, because I wanted a certain color......

Re: did I OVER PAY for a 2001 SE fully loaded?

I got mine 2001 SE fully loaded back in October 2000 for 25,500 without taxes but they made me buy extended warranty for $1500. So total was 27,000 plus tax. I think it was a great price while back in 2000.

26,350 canadian for a 2k1 not bad, because the prices that I have been seeing in candian dollars is in the upper 31's for almost loaded 2k2 so that wouldn't be too bad, I think.

Regardless of how much you paid as long as your satified with your goods is all that matters.

Oh - and I forget:
NO TAX since this is OREGON.
Plus I got some Eagle 077 17x8 Alloys with the deal. I don't know why they were on the car - only had 207 miles after being driven down from a Seattle area dealer (180mi) so it's not like it's a used car or something. I like the wheels and I don't have the 7" rim problem. Street value of the rims is $800/set.

Believe it or not...outside of DC. My wife drives a hard bargain...we just about walked out twice I think. The good cop bad cop works very well...for all of you married or non-married, try it! We also used alot of bluffing, saying the dealer accross town was giving it away for (x) and had the color we wanted. It was fun as usual....
