People I know:
1994 Mustang GT automatic (Rolling start, he was alone and I had a passenger. Guess what? I was even with him in 1st gear, half of second but thats when I started to walk until the end of the gear)

1996 Monte Carlo LS 3.1 (He always wants to race me, even though he knows he can't win. He hangs pretty well until I get on the top of first gear, after that, he's in my rear view mirror)

1993 Dodge shadow ES 3.0 (My bestfriends....slow)

1996 Buick Lasabre 3.8 (no contest, race was from 70-100mph, my third gear was to much for his car)

1996 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi 3.8 S/C (race was from 30-130mph on a country road. He started first but I walked on him once I reached 90mph.)

People I don't know:

Pontiac Sunbird (Two girls trying to chase us, my friend and I wanted to get away because they were scary lookin.)

Geo Metro (I had 5 people in my car. I was amazed that he was able to hang with me until I reached 4 grand on my tach)

Mazda Protege5 (this guy was sorta ghey...he looked over, smiled and waved...I felt molested, so I just dropped it into first, chirped my tires and go off as he tries to catch up but couldn't.)

Olds Alero (Girl was driving with two other passengers. This was from a stoplight. I didnt' realise she was gonna go for it, but she went for it and I can see her smile. I get on it and at the top of first gear into second I pass her. She was..... ACH OO TEE)

I've been offered a race by many ricer's in their fixed up 5th generation Accords with them 2.2L's. It's funny how most of them offer, but back down all of a sudden. I've also had quite a bit of people rev at me, but I don't race. I just watch them burn out while I take off normally and laugh when they turn on their hazards. I usually catch up after awhile, drop the car into 1st gear at about 35mph, I love to look on their face. I slow down and drop it into neurtal to rev at them if they want to race. They never do.

I had a Riced out Civic rev at me, yeah right like I was gonna race him, especially since I had my parents in the car

 

I killed a 528i and a "Crazy" white 3rd gen on the highway, and I killed an 85 Monte Carlo SS (350 cid) from a "light."

I feel sorry for your car...its only a 2k2 and has seen major abuse. I hope when you sell your car, they don't see this thread.

 

 

Hmm, I am gonna turn this around and tell you want car "killed" my Max.

Late model Grand Cherokee. I was at a light on a 3 lane road that has 100km speed limit. I had 4 people total in my car, and not sure how many the Jeep had. Light turned green and the Jeep was gonna. The road was slick with ice/snow and I spun the tires so I didn't even try after that.

I have been pulled over once and ticketed for 129 in a 60 zone. I have never had an accident or caused an accident. I only race when it is safe to do so.

Perhaps you're too young to understand that race and safe are a contradiction of terms. Just because you haven't killed yourself or someone else yet doesn't change that.

 

my friends dad thought it was safe to drive when he ran over a man walking across the middle of the road and the middle of the night. the man died.......DEAD.......as in not breathing.....he had grandkids and a wife......sure, he shouldnt have been in the middle of the road.....my friends dad wasnt racing anyone.....just driving....you never know whats gonna happen.....not to say that i am not guilty of street racing....we all make bad decisions. just thik about it.....i will try to save it for the track

 

I have to agree with Magellan and imccasli. Racing and safe shouldn't be used in the same sentence unless the sentence is "racing is not safe." I dont advocate racing, but I do it. People are stupid, and you never know if the idiot youre racing will cut you off, hit you, hit someone else, etc...

Speaking of racing and stupidity...I saw some f*cked up sh*t the other day. A Camarro and a Corvette start racing. The corvette stops at double the speed limit after winning (90 mph; felony) and the Camarro keeps going to about 110 at which point the idiot swerves into the corvettes lane. I'm not sure exactly what happened (i think he hit the curb somehow and blew a tire) but the Camarro shoots off to the left, launches off the curb, flies about 10 feet in the air, gets wraped up in a barbed wire fence, and falls about 20 feet down a cliff. NO SH*T! The passenger was ok but the driver had serious head injuries and will never be the same (brain damage from emergency surgery)...

 

I understand your point. I don't race in residential areas or in any inhabited area. I race on major roads where the speed limit is 55+. If you ask anyone that knows me, they will tell you that I'm at the track every week and sometimes twice a week. At least 80% of those races took place at the track where there are no pedestrians, other cars, or intersections.

As if you have NEVER raced anyone before. Driving fast is not always dangerous. Did he mention that he raced these vehicles through a school zone or rush hour traffic? I must have missed that some where in the post. The mass majority of these people seem to be responsible and have a firm grasp of common sense. I just wish people would lighten up a little. I guess some people buy fast cars and drive Miss Daisy around town. Sorry, let's just ban fast cars and make everyone drive a POS FORDs. Enough said.

*HOWEVER* he clarified that this is mostly on the track. The track changes everything.

 

The Millenia just has a 10 psi pulley and a k&n cone filter. The Supra is BPU+++ (fmic, bcc, cai, dp, many ecu mods, and full exhaust). As for all the cars, they're my parents' cars. The Maxima is mine and the Supra is basically mine (officially May 31, when I graduate); the Millenia is my mom's and has no idea that it is modded. The rest are my dad's, he also has a Kawasaki ZX-12 that runs 10.8's.

I love my Max; but if I had a Supra TT, I'd sell my Max in a second and use the money to mod the Supra to the gills (F&F style). Then I'd tear up everything on the road.

 

Where to start...
1. Boxster skocked I beat it thought they were faster.
2. Pontiac GTP took me off the line until 45 then walked him.
3. CL-S stock didn't want to do it but he started it.
4. Eclipse GST Nice highway race topend power!
5. Modded GTI Took me unil 60 to catch him!
6. RSX-S Nice race closer than I thought it would be only ran until 70
7. Celica GTS Took him off the line and never looked back.
8. IS300 This guy talked more **** than a *****. Ran him form a stop and on the highway, walked away in both.
9. Modded ITR one of my best races Barely edged him out from a 80-120 punch.
10. 2K2 Max auto posted it awhile back no flames please.
11. Modded 98 Max 5sp Great race he got me off he line caught him at around 40 and won by 2 cars.
