2K2 SE Price

I was wondering what a good price (or what you got) is for the following:

2002 Nissan Maxima SE-Automatic Transmission
Color-Gray Lustre/Charcoal Leather Interior
Equipment:Bose Audio System, Floor Mats, SE Leather pkg, Power Sliding Glass Sunroof

I got the dealer down to $26,150 (after $1000 rebate). This any good? I asked for a nav system for $27,150 but he said he couldn't but would see what he could do.

you should be getting a better price. that would be able right for a fully loaded 2k2 but not for a car with the few options you listed. i'd say it should be around $25,000 or even $24,500 after the $1000 back.

Go to www.carsdirect.com and see what's their best price and use that price to negociate with your dealer. They usually have good deals.

"the few options you listed"? I listed all major options except navigation. The price (before tax) comes out to me $26,150 from the dealer and on carsdirect its 26,569...

Meaning I got lower. Is this still not good?

Dealer emailed me this:

The vehicle I quoted you does not have a Navigation system, and trying to get one with a Nav System will be difficult without adding to the price, thus taking you further away from the 27,000 dollar figure you have in mind. I mentioned yesterday that I had an idea. I have been using a company recently to install Navigation systems in models that do not have it offered as an option, or for clients who prefer a premium system.

The Navigation system is an Alpine system. The cost for the system including installation is 1,750 which is actually less than the factory system. They will come to your home or work by appointment and complete the installation. If we were to do this your pricing would be as follows:

27,150 (this price is less than 100 dollars over dealer invoice/cost)
1,750 Alpine Navigation System
28,900 Total
- 1,000 Rebate

Keep in mind that the rebate is deducted after tax and license fees have been added to the vehicle. What county do you reside in? Let me know and I will calculate the total price with and without the Navigation system.

( FYI there is no drilling or holes made, the system has a separate mounting bracket made especially for the Maxima.)
================================================== ===================

hmmm, what do you think about price and about this alpine nav system.

i guess the fact that you only listed 4 things threw me off. looking again, you're right. the only things you dont have are the minor, less expensive options. but it least my pricing was about right. you'd be right around $25,000 afte rebate

I just bought a SE last week. It was gray lustre/black cloth. Bose, Sunroof with wind deflector, mats, and splash guards. I paid $25,700 after taxes. I felt it was a fair price but I guess I am not as good of a negotiater as others If you back out all of my taxes and add leather in at invoice it seems your price is inline with what I paid. Hope this helps.

the Alpine stuff are one of the Best & is my favorite.
they have the best Nav systems out there and $1,750 installed
sounds OK, does it have a CD player?

but then the Climate control will work independently fro mthe Nav, unlike the factory Nav.

my Maxima arrived at the dealer today & s/b picking it up tomorrow.

i got a better deal of 27,200 fully loaded w/ NAV !! & includes a ton of accessories. little too late now. i think
