RECENT 5TH GEN 1/4 mile times

I was wondering since there hasn't been a recent posting for 1/4 times what people have ran.

I have a 2000 se auto with Place Racing CAI, ground control coilovers, 18's, stillen y-pipe and I took the resonater and back end exhaust off so it is a straight pipe back from the cat.

I never ran it yet even when it was stock. Just was curious to know what people have ran. Im running it tonight at FIREBIRD RACEWAY.

2000 SE Auto here

I ran 15.5 with a K&N drop-in at Capitol raceway last friday night, other than the drop-in car is stock. I would say with CAI and Y-pipe you should be in the high 14s.

I think most stock 2K -2K1 auto max would average 15.4-15.5 for 1/4 time, I believe one member did 15.2 but he might be the exeption, anyway, taking in effect the Mobiletek VB recal by itself could shave 1/2+ sec on your 1/4 time, I would presume that in addition with Y-Pipe - Intake - Cat Back and 16" wheels, then you can possibly hit near 14" with a perfect launch, ça vas de soi... Understand that this situation might be the dream one and perhaps hardly achievable for most non skilled drivers but I think few org member did near those figures.

Cheers

Well I RAN it And here is the Results

I ran a 15.7 eight times. I couldn't get below that. My best R/T was .89

I was killing everything I went against except for a eclipse that had NOS and was run 13.1.

And Superiorracing.com's civic that runs 12.2 and I think he broke into the 11's last night.

I have CAI, y-PIPE, and straight pipe from the cat back NO Muffler NO Resonator. I don't get it all these mods and 15.7 ?

And Im not new to racing. I use to have 90' Mustang with a 351 Clevland, modified civic, and a stock 99 prelude (auto)that ran 15.6.

I think I could gained another .5 seconds if my tranny wasn't doing that slip thing. Im taking it to the dealer to get that TSB for 2000 auto slips. But they are probably gonna make me pay for it since my warranty is probably voided b/c of all the mods and lowering.

Last night Results from Sport Compact Night at Firebird Raceway in Arizona is on dragracing.com. I'm T.J. Loftus when you look at the results

It's the track. We(Phoenix/Tucson) Maximas have been there plenty to prove it.

Desert Pearl's AE autoMAGIC got a best 15.5-15.6 with POP, Y-pipe, and Greddy catback.

Mr. Burner's '00 autoMAGIC got a best 15.5 with stock intake, Y-pipe, and full custom Cattman exhaust.

2000MaxSE's '00 autoMAGIC got a best 15.7-15.8 STOCK with stereo equipment in the trunk.

My best with POP is 15.5. Still don't know how to launch.

The above times were done when it was approximately 85-degrees, so that and that the track is difficult to hook up on made our slow times. The cooler air helped you a bit. For the R/T(I'm no expert talk to DesertPearl), you go on the 3rd yellow. Do NOT wait for the green or you will get a 0.8+ R/T.

BTW, there must have not been much competition because of the Sport Compact night if you were killing people with a 15.7. My FIRST run AND loss ever at the track was against a regular Dodge Ram which pulled a 15.5.

You are right there was NO COMPETITION. Except for SRD's cars. There was stupid saturn station wagons, cavaliers, 16 and 17 running civics and focuses. My max was like a funny car at a domestic drag night.

I heard about that at that track too. I heard its uphill a little bit. I heard speedworld is better b/c its downhill and isn't a real full 1/4 mile.

The results aren't up yet on dragracing.com but I'm sure by the end of the day and you will see alot of people running 16's and 17's.

On my latest run, last month at Firebird, I did 15.01 @92mph. My car went into limp mode on the 2nd run so I stopped after that.

Your time make no sense, I though a stock auto max was doing 15.5 ??? holly crap, maybe we are just a bunch of liar who crank-up the numbers, anyway I cant wait to go on a race track soon and see the truth. Verified that set-up man 15.7 doesn't sound right at all, unless it is very warm and humid, oops I forgot the tranny, ya that must be it, cuz those times means something's wrong, but I might be full of s**t.

Cheers
