wind noise...again

wind noise...again
Okay... I know this has been the topic of discussion for months now, but I wanted to get an opinion on how quiet the cabin is for most of you 2002 Maxima drivers... I heard the cabin was redesigned and supposed to be very quiet... no wind noise... although tire noise is usually expected.... what types of sounds do you hear when you're goin above 60 MPH? The dealer claims they can't do anything about it... or can they? I know I can drown out the wind noise with the Bose... but I'd rather enjoy the sounds coming from that stereo without interruption from the wind... feed back would be greatly appreciated.

I can't say for the 2002's, but my 2k1 is pretty darn noisy. And it's an all-over wind noise...not really centered on the rear winows. Mostly just the sound of wind rushing around the car.

I've done the TSB twice myself (didn't think I did it right the first time), and it seemed to help a little, but not nearly as much as I was expecting it to. Not sure that there's much else to try, unless someone is willing to try some sort of liquid foam spray like you can do for house windows... I'm guessing that'll be too visible, plus it hardens, so am not sure that's such a good idea. Hmmm....

I really don't think the general wind noise is actually an actionable "problem." It's just the way the car is designed/built. It's just not as solidly put together as we would like.
A co-worker has an Audi A4. That thing is built like a vault. It's very quiet in the cabin (save for the requisite engine note, of course) In comparison, my Max is very noisy. Maybe it's the fact that there's a ton more glass in the Maxima? The Maxima cabin is a whole lot more open than the A4, too. The A4 is a nice tight cocoon. Better sound deadening in the A4 as well?

My 2K1 had extreme wind noice coming from the passenger side rear window from day 1. Had the TSB done. It eliminated that noice. Now I can hear all of the other wind noice around the rest of the car. Sounds like most if comes from the mirrors.
I've recently been in a 2K2 which sounded much quiter than my 2K1.
