taken the headlights out of their 2000+ Maxima?
I dont mean the bulbs, i mean the WHOLE assembly.
If so, please let me know if it was a pain in the @$$ or relatively simple...
Other info would help too...like the # of bolts, location, tips, etc.

Thanks In Advance.

PS: I know somebody on here has to be an autobody guy!

If the idea of removing the headlight is to get cold air at the track, then forget about it. There is too much blocking the incoming air (battery, wiring harness, shape of the headlight mounting frame). It would probably just slow you down. If anything, make yourself a heatshield for the intake and route some piping from under the bumper up to the filter. I did that and it lowered my intake temps dramatically.

No...i'm installing 2001 AE headlights.
I removed the two top bolts on the upper radiator support but the damn headlights still dont come off...it still seems to be held on by somethingon the side of the headlight where it connects to the fender...but i cant see anything.

lemme ask this

Now that the AE lights have been brought up, do they at all degrade the light output? I dont think it would but someone claimed the actual plastic ont he covers is tinted too (??) Doesnt look like it to me. I really like em but dont want em if the light output sucks. Thanks =)

No it doesnt reduce output.
The lenses are NOT tinted.
only the inside of the housing is (the part that is originally chrome is bronze with AE...thats the only difference.

oh yea...i dont need help anymore....

i figured it out...
to remove the headlights its VERY simple:
(1) remove 2 (10mm) bolts on radiator support
(2) pull out headlight assembly (just a lil stubborn)

should only take 10 mins from start to finish to do the headlight swap...and all you need is a 10mm.

BTW: it looks SWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTT!!!

Thanks 4 the info. Do they need to be aligned after they're installed? Or does everything just slide neatly right back into place?
