damn.. had one of the worst day today.. (long)
today.. I was driving to school.. and I stoped at the stop light.. some lady got out of her car and knock on my door and told me that my rear driver side tire is viberating.... So I took it to the tire place to have them check it out.... I waited almost 30 min just to talk to someone...(they were really busy), I ask them to check my tires and rebalance it and rotate it for me... so I sign the paper work... and wait... after an hour, I still didn't see my car been working on.. so I went up to the counter.. and ask them what's up... it turn out someone misplace the key and the paperworks, so they didn't even know my car was out there waiting to be serviced... after they pull the car into the bay... they ask me to come out and look at the tires... it seems that I have two bold spot on each side of the front tires for some reason (anyone know what could cause this?? the car has 35,000 miles on it.. and I have only used these tires for about 25,000 miles), and I have a bent steel rim on my rear driver side.... and since they are close for the day (by the time it's done.. it's 6 pm)... I need 3 new tires, one new steel rim(my winter rim) and a alligment... going to put on my momo arrows for now, and even with those.. I probably need new tires also...

If you have a bent STEEL rim...
...you might have seriously driven over/bumped into some major obstacles. If you didn't even know that your wheel was bent, you may have been out of alignment for a while.
Another possibility...Has your car been lowered? Sometimes you can get away with not getting an alignment...sometimes you NEED one.

What do you mean by bald spots on either side?
On the sidewalls of the tires? One bald spot on each of the fronts on the tread? On the sidewalls of one front tire?
I have some theories, but don't know which one to suggest unless I know what the tires look like...

it's on the side wall almost on the top... all you see is this bold spot, then the rest of the place seems fine(except for the normal wear and tear).. I just got back from the tire place.. and I ask them guy to see if it could be caused by my back rim is bent.. he said it shouldn't affect it... so dunno.... just order a steel rim from tires.com for 34 bucks!! and going to put new tires on those on monday....

the tires were out of alignment, when was the last time you had an alignment done to your car, if the tires are bold on the top of the sidewall like on that round spot of the tire then the tires were touching the road mostly there and they were most likely out of alignment
