who is automatic(2000-2001) and is sc

Ok I have been thinking of the super charger. I call Stillen and the idiot i spoke to said it can't be done, only for manual tranny, I said well I know a Max that is auto, and is sc(Kevin of coarse) he said it's impossible, it has to be stick.
After I hung up with this moron, I wanted to put one in drive there, and say here it's done(sc) I thought it couldn't be done.
Ok so what adjustments need to be done, will the tranny hold up,vb is coming soon, what else is needed. thank you for the input......Bernie

people at Stillen are very cautious about possible liability issues..
they know automatic trannys are more prone to break down after a supercharger and just don't want to deal with that problem(although i think it's totally up to the driver to make this decision).

Kev's car's been holding up strangely well, while others(skimax, and yeah, he had VB mods too...and finally ended up doing a manual swap until he sold his blower) have blown their tranny to bits. so, who's right? well, don't know..

Next time you call stillen, call Kenny at extention 185, he knows the goods. He's a total import fan like us and he has a bad *** RX-7. He kwnow the bizzness with Maximas. Tell him Alex Q from Chicago sent you and he'll knock of the price of a SC or anything else you need like 19 way adjustible racing coilover, Nice system.

Get the kit from http://www.avalonracing.net (max'n out got his from them).

The reason why Stillen won't sell the SC to autos is because of Dman_2kmax's (Diederik) fittment problems. He was the first auto to get the supercharger... and guess what? Stillen didn't test fit their kit on an auto!

Stillen would flip if they found out I was running 11 psi (9 psi, cooled) on an auto.

Kev, sounds like we need to put together another fundraiser, "Send KEV's 11psi midget powered autoMAGIC to Stealin Day".

You need to show them guys what a REAL Maxima can do on the dyno.

Bernie,

In addition to the valve body you'll want a good tranny cooler and some quality transmission fluid. =)

How can we miss Maxima Day at Stillen? Hopefully us NorCal folks can get it together and travel down to Stillen this year (Turbo95Max [turbo], CalsonicSE [NOS], Chebosto [SC], Jane97SE [SC], and myself).

Stillen puts down about 302 whp (SAE) with their Max on a "stock SC pulley." Juan puts down 298 whp (STD) with his Max (tuned with AFC on a 3.33" SC pulley). Something doesn't add up...

Red carpet?

Make sure you do the vb mod, the tranny cooler, and get the solenoid fixed before doing anything else.

Everything else is simple.

I have the tranny cooler,(404) just waiting to put it in, vb I'm waiting on Don, and the selnoid Nissan says there is not a problem, so I will probaly do that, when the vb comes out, on my own since 2 dealerships won't change it.
Thats it, so there won't be anything else ok you would know,, thanks for the info. Bernie

You need to check out the TCM and see if you have the older version. I recommend changing that (not necessary) if it is the older version.

With a 2000, you probably have the solenoid problem. It should help with 1st to 2nd gear shifts (which is the a very stressful task if you're boosted).

oh ya I'm first going to the y-pipe(but since you bought the last one from Frank) kidding I'm getting mine thru warspeed, vb is after that, then the super charger is about 2 months away(hopefully sooner)I'm just trying to be like Kevin,, no seriously my mechanic, is all in to this, and is pushing a little faster than i wanted to go ,but he says he could probaly get haltech(ecu company) even for the max's, to sponsor my car,, bling bling,,, that ecu is like a 1000.00 then about 600.00 to install, so if it pans out cool if not, I'll have a quick Max.........
