5 mph Bumpers Work!!!!

On the way to work this morning, I stopped at a crosswalk to let some guy across; however, the guy behind me didn't stop. He wasn't going fast and was able to brake slightly before hitting me. Not much damage was done, just scraped up the bumper. If my car wasn't only 3 months old, I'd probably not even contact his insurance company. I'm not too happy about the accident but it could have been a lot worse (I could have been the one who caused it)!!!

Yeah 5mph hits aren't too bad for our Maxes to handle. I was going into reverse once out of this lot and I hit this guy. Felt pretty hard. I got out of my car and saw not even 1 scratch.

front bumper works too

last summer i was making a left turn onto my street, my mind was on cruise control and didn't realize that there was a car coming the other way. Thankfully we both managed to slam on the brakes but we still ended up hitting front bumpers. Amazingly the only damage to his car was a broken license plate cover and on mine the plastic plate holder was cracked. Easily replaced for $20. The bumper did what it was suppposed to do and reaffirmed my belief that the Max is a well built, well designed and safe automobile.

two nights ago i was pulling into my covered parking spot in my apartment complex. i have this steel support beam that i always have to cut it close to in order to pull my car in tight. i have never hit the thing before, but naturally in my one month old max i managed to get it. i was only going about 2 mph(if that) and i heard this "squeaaaaaaaak" and new exactly what i had done. i just about crapped my pants. not a scratch on it. can't even tell you how relieved i was.
