importnat y pipe question
my car is a 2001 and i believe it is a cali spec
i have a question to all you guys with the cattman y pipe for the 2001
did you guys have a hanger on the y pipe????
cuz i didint have a hanger on my y pipe and cattman said it was supposed to have one!!! that caused my y pipe to shake a lot and hit the black bar that runs across the bottom of the car all the time
anyways... cattman is sending me a hanger so i can mold it on, for now, i just took of the bar!!!

all 2k1 are cali spec. the stock y pipe has a hanger but you dont need it for installation of the cattman. i think it can remain there but if its in the way, im sure it can be taken down. i think i left mine in place.

Wow, Cattman needs to keep up with their own products. This problem has been around for more than a year, with not a peep from Cattman about it.
I removed my cross-member, the black one you’re talking about. Some people have bought washers and new bolts so as to lower the crossmember.
Cattman should have caught this a long time ago.
Here is the info on dropping the crossmember, from MichaelAE if I remember correctly. (sorry if I got that wrong.)
The total distance dropped is 3/8" for me. I used four steel washers to reach this. Seven flat washers would have worked too.
The new bolts are M8, 1.25mm thread, 1.25" length. You have to buy longer bolts after you lower it...found in any metric section of your local hardware store. I put a new flat washer and lock washer between each bolt and the cross-member and the four steel washers between the frame and cross-member.
TIP: Be really careful once you start to not drop a washer into the crossmember (it is hollow). I did it once...couldn't get it out, had to remove the crossmember, dump the washer, and start all over. Big hassle.

there should also be a hanger to hook up on the y pipe, but some how i didnt get it on my y pipe
i called cattman and they are sending me the hanger next week....
i guess my y pipe was a special one with a part missing, but i have no problems with cattman, cuz they are good products and have really good service.....
and about the cross member, i ll put it back on once i get the hanger and hook up my y pipe, if it still bangs the cross member then i will try lowering the cross member...
