Pacesetter

I just got mine today from Custommaxima.com...thanks for the great deal by the way!! I installed it myself and it wasn't too much fun but I got it in there. I'm living in a hotel right now so I used the infamous curb-jack and my toolset that I carry around in my car. I'd make sure you don't do it this way unless you enjoy swearing at the car endlessly. The heat shield was rubbing on the shifter after I put it in so I just left the heat shield off. Is that OK to do? I think I read about someone that did that. The shifting is a little stiffer, but it's way worth it for the short throw. I can fly through those gears now!!! Definitely worth the $70!!

PS if anyone has some spare time and knows what they're talking about it would be very beneficial to get a how-to for the installation of a STS on the org!

Good idea, a how-to section would be perfect and I will definately add it to my site. We are out of stock on the shifters now but I have over 100 more that is supposed to be in stock anyday now.
Thanks,
Greg

I had the same problem with it scrapping the heat shield. Just take the heat shield and pound it along the middle leaving a groove going all the way down. No more contact.

I had a B&M shifter on my 70 Cuda and was happy with it. I know that's not what you wanted to hear but they make a decent product. I would have preferred a Hurst but oh well. If you have any second doubts just sell that puppy.

Installed my STS last weekend

I got my STS from custommaxima and it took about 3 days, Thank you so much for it!! I installed it this weekend and the only issues I had were removing the nuts from the catalytic converter. Other than that, things went real smooth. Best $80 upgrade I have done. I had to leave my heatshield off too, even after bashing the **** out of it, it still rubbed, so I hope there won't be any negative effects from leaving it off.

Re: Installed my STS last weekend

I had mine installed this weekend as well. Thanks Greg at CustomeMaxima for stting this deal up. I also got a Momo Combat Carbon ****. I love whole set up. Tool me and my body little over an hour. The ball is little above the midpoint and i put couple of washers on a heat shield, so no rubbing at all.

Do you have any pics? I would like to see the shifter hight with the ball around midpoint. That Momo **** must look sweet as well.
