When will the Max will get a 5-speed automatic?
My mom is in the market for a new car, and she likes the 02 Max. But if Nissan has plans to put a 5-speed auto in the 03 and screw the 02 owners like they did to the 01 owners, then I'm gonna hold out till the 03s come out.
VQ has gobs of power, but second gear is just too tall for my taste. I mean, it goes up to 80+ mph. But when you only have 4 gears to play with, there really isn't much of a choice.
If Nissan really wants to set the Maxima apart, then they better drop a 5 speed auto in pretty quick.

I hate the Q45.
You know why the Q45 is so slow? Whenever the magazines test the big luxo-cruisers, Q45 always lags behind the Lexus and others in accleration. Well, I found out why.
STUPID GEARING!
Q45's first gear winds up to over 50 mph!!! In fact, I think it goes up to almost 60!
No wonder it's 0-60 is so slow. It's not just the first gear that is ridiculous, second is way long too. I have no idea why Nissan did that. Just let the car have a normal gearing like the LS 430. Yeah, the Q45 has a big engine that works just fine with tall gears, but that is plain stupid. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
Oh and one more thing, I dont like the Q45's confusing dash either.
