I may have a free solution for your engine mount problem. Now since its ECU controlled that means that it has a switch or harness. So why not just unplug the engine mount and see if it gets rid of the noise. If that doesn't work you could rewire the mount so that it's always on and doesn't switch back and forth. I know this is kinda ghetto but if it gets the job done so be it .

Hey Nis..the very thought has crossed my mind....

Well this is what I know so far about the mounts....the very first time that I brought the car in for the problem, the techs had absolutely no idea where the noise was coming from.....while I was there he had the Consultant II hooked up to my car....he turned off the mounts nad presto...no noise when we feathered the gas etc...as soon as he turned the mounts back on, the chirp came right back....first diagnosis is "Hey we have a bad squeaky mount" Replacing it seemed like the correct thing to do...(seems logical right?)

Well 3 sets of mounts and 3 ecus later the noise is actually worse ! And this is where I am now at with waht Nissan has determined as a normal occurence of 2K Maximas...."Thank you Sir..May I have another!"

I don't know if forcing them on all the time is a good idea...as I understand it when the engine is at idle, the engine is floating in fluid thus reducing vibration felt to the driver..when Idle is increased the mounts turn on from their passive state and firm up to support the engine.

I imagine this is why I can get the engine to chirp by putting a load on it without even touching the gas. Whn I turn on the A/C, window defogger, put the car in gear etc I am changing the idle speed thus introducing the engine mounts to move from there passive state to a firm state...chirp..

Another possiblity of the noise could be coming from the idle control valve....this has been suggested to me by a pretty knowledgable guy form the Edmunds boards. I am going to make an appointment with a guy my folks bring their 95 Max to. He used to be one of the top Techs at my dealership....hopefully after he listens to my car he will go "wtf?" I will have him unplug the mounts to try to isolate where the noise is coming from.

I hope that @KSE is not going to get the same treatment Nissan has shown me.

Thanks for your words Nis
