Yes . . .
You won't gain much more power and there's info around that indicates the K&N Panel allows small particulate matter to get through the filter. I'd recommend that you go with an Amsoil Air Filter instead.
For info on the Amsoil filter, check out:

hmmm
I dunno about that

According to Ammsoil, a conventional paper filter flows the same as a K&N and the Amsoil. That wouldn't make sense considering that I've seen gains using just the K&N panel in 2 of my older vehicles.

I'm not sure either, Jesse . . .
I really don't know the difference between a "low quality" paper filter and a "high quality" paper filter. But I did read some independent reports that indicated the K&N Panel Filter did a poor job of filtering small particulate matter. If you do a search on K&N here, I suspect you'll find the same info I did.
I'd rather be safe than sorry, particularly for what amounts to a relatively small horsepower gain. And I know Amsoil has an excellent reputation across their entire product spectrum. So I'm sticking with the Amsoil air filter.

I would like to see actual numbers on that AMSOIL graph. K & N uses actual flow measurements and filtering properties on their package and website. Of course they have different results. I think someone posted some 3rd party tests from Japan some time ago.
I use a K & N panel filter. I don't think any of the panel filter really offer much performance over stock. (Maybe 1 HP) The one benefit of the K & N and AMSOIL is that they can be reused.
