Thinking about selling......

I'm thinking about selling my max and getting into something that gives me better miles per gallon. Any ideas?

hmmmm....

The hit you take by selling the Max will be more than any money
you'll save by driving a smaller car with better mpg.

Maybe if you drive the smaller car for 10 years, the cost will be offset.

Don't worry about gas cost. Just enjoy the ride

I see by your signature that you're driving a GXE. If you were to sell it you would probably not take as big a hit as those of us who drive SE's. I suggest you drive the heck out of it, put lots of miles on it b4 you trade it in. You WILL GET HIT, no matter what, but at least th hot will be justified. Don't know about you, but I get 21MOG city, 26-27MPG Hwy. For a large sedan with a 200+ hp engine, that's not bad MPG.

I am also driving a GXE, and did some homework on this. GXEs depreciate as much as GLEs and SEs. A used GXE costs about 2-3 grand less than top-line GLE, which is about the same difference when they cost new.
The only reason I bought a new Maxima is because I wanted a reliable vehicle that I would be trouble-free for 5 years. I am not going to get rid of it before pay off, unless the gas prices jump to 3 bux/gallon. Then I would get a Honda Civic.

Thanks for the replys.....I'm keeping my Max for now. I will be attending the Houston Autoshow next week, I'll take a look around. Every time I go to the autoshow I get the itch to buy another car.

I like imports so I would say Civic, Sentra etc. The Mazda Proteges are nice looking now although there is a size difference no doubt. MP3 are cool looking in some peoples' opinions.

The way I look at it I don't care too much about the slightly higher fuel consumption. $ spend in fuel for a good car is worth it. Similarly, $ spend on food on the human body is worthy. Go with cheaper junk food, or food that does the body good :-) $ is no object, to a degree.
