Youre right there.. The muffler shop guy and I had a heck of a time lining up the pipes to tuck in evenly with the bumper..but of course, they dont fit in the slot.... I still think they flush nicely... My wwife and I drove to dinner and a movie, and it seems like every partical of rice on the road wants to race now !

Definitely nice ride. I think I'd like it better if it just had one tip. Still looks darn good. Thanks for the pictures. By the way, who is it made by and did they have anything similar with just one tip?

Made by Powertech. They do have One Tip mufflers. I just wanted to keep the dual tip look...I loved the way Big Dog's Muffler looked ...he guided me to this muffler....I think the website is . WWW.Powertech.com

Just did a quick run through on your homepage. Really nice car. Is that a frost leather interior? Just like most guys on the org(except for 2K2 owners), looking at all these new cars, been considering getting something new. I guess if I'm not able to get something in the high $30's or low $40's, a Max like yours would not be a bad option. How do you like that Frankencar?

Frankencar is not in yet. Its on its way. Im getting it powdercoated RED with a RED Monsterflow filter...I am using a Berk Intake right now.. I recommend it 100 % . Nice Growl. Definetly a power increase ! As a former V8 MUSCLE owner for the last decade.. I say GO MAXX ! NO RICE here !

Yeah, but I hear that combo plays real havoc on your transmission!

BTW: That is why I went with the dual 3.5 inchers instead...

"Very deep rumble" to some is "Just plain LOUD" to others.

The muffler looks great, kloogy. But my advice to those considering a Y-pipe is to install the Y-pipe FIRST. Otherwise you might end up with a lot more exhaust noise than you bargained for.

I realize a 2K2 Y-pipe isn't manufactured yet and the urge to mod the exhaust system on your Maxima may overtake some of you. For those among you, I'd recommend that you KEEP your OEM muffler for a couple of reasons. You may want to reinstall it after you install your Y-pipe. And from an engineering perspective, the OEM muffler is not your typical muffler. It is, in fact, one of the most advanced muffler designs ever developed. After all, if it's good enough for a Skyline . . .

Welcome to the club...

Hey Y2kSE, nice looking, welcome in the club... with the Y-Pipe addition your car will sound really mean, in my nabour no one want to race with me no more, it seems that they are intimidated by those huge 4" tips, some people who dont know about mods think that the bigger the muffler tips are the faster the car is... at least 50HP more.he he he

Cheers

You messing with me or you actually know this for a fact? Cause I am getting major 1st gear problems of it slipping and what not. I was just going to wait for it to completely fall apart before taking it into the dealer for replacement.

Uhh, Yankees, huh?...i thought you were just showing your support for NYC...

Damn, I'm trying to figure if I want to go with the Powertech, or just get the damn HKS & get it over with. Looks great Kloogman, but I've already told you that about 100times by now.

Hey 02MaXiMa_GLE, buy the PowerTech Racing muffler and with the left over money, get the Cattman SS resonator and B-Pipe for 250$. I though of buying a nice looking HKS muffler, but 400$ just for the muffler is too much for 1 or 2 HP gain so I piked up the PowerTech and will order the Cattman SS resonator and B-Pipe as soon as it's available.

Cheers

Quiet Ride

One of the reasons I bought my max was cause it was so much quieter than the 4 bangers I test drove.

Oh well.

P.S. Yankees Suck!

Hmmmmm... doublea you are putting some interesting thoughts in my head now!!! But are these available for 2k2 models yet? I must check with the coolcat (cattman, who else) Doublea, was it you that was going to install the highflow cat at a Canadian shop for $100 or something like that? Did u get it? How is it? Lemme know... could of been someone else I'm thinking about... Thanks for the idea! It may well be worth it!
