Do you have Traction Control? If you do shut it off and see if this changes anything. It helped in my situation. If you don't then see your dealer. As far as the wind noise I believe there is a Technical Service Bullitin for this fix and if not it's in the making. I believe there is a fix for the 2001 and they may perform the fix for you on the 2k2. Regardless try getting both fixes done from the dealer. Of course you may have to convince the service manager before anything gets done but at least it's worth a try. Remember also you don't have to get it serviced from the dealer you bought it from. If they put up a fight in doing anything about these problems try another local Nissan dealer.

lol

I noticed this on my 2K2 SE when I ran it at the track.

I had the same problem till I turned OFF the traction control. then i couldnt stop the tires from smokin ! Needless to say, no more problem launching. Now when someone pulls up and i smell a race, I turn the traction control OFF !

I believe that the variable intake causes a slight delay, even in my 6speed. Typically this is in second gear cruising and I hit the gas about 3/4 way and there is a split second lag. Kinda annoying, but I think it is supposed to be normal.

As for the wind noise, I dont know. The only problem I have with the wind is on the highway with my hood. At times I am certain the darned thing is gonna blow off!

I kinda have this problem. I think it's the drive-by-wire (or should I say hung-by-wire). But do you get a delay when you floor it? That's where it really matters in the long run. I don't seem to have a real delay when I STEP ON IT...

I don't notice any lag, but then again I haven't been checking that carefully. No, not all auto Maximas come w/traction control. I have a GXE, it's not even an option on that trim.

I have noticed this on my 02 GLE. I haven't tried turing OFF the trac control. If that doesn't work, I'm going to mention it to the dealer at the 7500 mile service.
