Driving a maxima now

Picked up a 2000 GLE with 14,000 miles last week, never have driven a Nissan until then. Very impressed with the car. Sweetest engine I have driven. Never thought they were this fast. Have a question though, when pulling up to a stop sign or light, I can feel the auto tranny shift into the lower gears, it doesn't clunk or anything but you can feel it shift for sure. Seems to happen once warmed up and it more noticable. I would appreaciate any thoughts on the matter. Thanks

2001SE, The car shifts smooth as can be when the problem was not happening, the problem was the throttle was not returning to idle speed with the foot off the gas all the time. Proofed this when it was happening and I put the tranny in neutral doing around 35 mph and coasted and the RPMs went to 2500 with my foot off the gas, tapped the gas peddle a few times and the rpms dropped to where it should and at the next stop sign it shifted to first and couldn't feel a thing. The tranny may still be retarded but in this case it was a throttle problem for sure.

2001SE, I have to admit I really can not feel it downshift when the throttle is working normal. What kind of mileage can I expect from this car? Thanks
