Well, I got rear-ended today for the second time in 2 years.

An old lady slammed on brakes in front of me while in the middle of a turn, for some reason I still don't know. I stopped in time without hitting her but unfortunately the guy behind me didn't and plowed into the back of me. The guy that hit me was driving a full-size extended-cab Chevy Pickup. It bent his bumper in so bad that it was touching his front tire and he had to be towed from the accident. My back bumper is scratched pretty bad but that's it. Not even dented. The worst part is, the stupid woman that caused the accident hauled butt. I didn't think to get her tag # so I will probably end up paying the deductable to get my car fixed.

No way you won't need to pay the deductable. The guy that hit you from behind has the losing case. It's his insurance that will pay for your bumber and whiplash.

the lady didn't get hit, no reason to stay except as a witness. the guy that hit you is at fault, his insurance should cover everything.

Same thing happened to me in my '99 GXE...

I was in the middle lane of a 3 lane road. A Caravan in the left lane cut me off to stop at a gas station on the right. I had to come to a complete stop to avoid him. This poor guy in an S-10 didn't react in time because he was checking on his little girl in the passenger seat. He smacked into me at about 30mph. It ended up being his fault, since he didn't brake in time, and his insurance company took care of the damage.

The person who does the rear ending WILL ALWAYS BE AT FAULT. So take it easy cause you're getting a new paint job

Thats kinda what I was thinking. The policeman let me go ahead and leave after he got all my information so I don't know if the guy that hit me got cited or not. I'm assuming that he did. I will be able to get the police report tommorrow. Sad thing is my back bumper didn't have any previous scratches so I'm not really gaining anything out of this but the aggravation of having to get it fixed.
