2002 Gauge Needles

Anyone know how to remove the 2002 Needles on the Gauges (SE model)? I have cut out a GEL and want to insert it behind the guages. I tried just sliding it down in there, but for some reason, I can't get the needles to work. They are rubbing up against the face of the guage. So I want to remove the needles so I can see what's stopping the guage face from laying all the way down properly (probably a tab or something). Thanks in advance.

yes. since the bulbs are a 37 wedge bulb (not a 194 anymore), there aren't any colored bulbs out that actually work. So I am putting a GEL behind the display so the light will pass through the GEL, and work from there.

I paid a whole $1.50 at a surplus store for it. But most town's have a music store that sells DJ equipment. You can buy them there. Not sure on what the price is at the music store, but it happened to be that my music store was out of them, and recommended me to the surplus store.
