I have an ' 02 SE with automatic. The idle seems a bit slow and if I'm reading the tachometer correctly the idle speed of my Maxima IN PARK ( and fully warmed up ) is ~ 700 RPM. We've determined that the first bold notch on the tach represents 500 RPM with the second notch above that representing 700 RPM. My Maxima is idling just below the 700 RPM notch. I'd appreciate it if a few of you could post your idle speed ( in park - fully warmed up ) for comparison. Not sure what the equivalent would be for you manual transmission owners. Maybe neutral ? I have asked a couple of Nissan service people and they are all over the place with their estimates ! They did say that if the idle was off that the check engine light would go on.

Mine's at roughly 3 notches down from 1k. So i guess that's about 700rpm.

 

Mine idles between 600-700.

Hello I have a

2003 Maxima starts on 1st crank Idle at 625-680 and the engine load is 21% and the O2 sensors at at .29 vt js this good from what i read a bad value would be below .11 volts

Also on the Scan O2 sensors 3 & 4 do not read.Also what are the O2 sensors Equivalency ratio 1 thru 8 suppose to do because they have no readings are those a add on.

Also the following codes come up on a Diag Test u-1000 , u-1001 , & P0328 Ignition system or misfire I was told that that code is for the knock sensor noyh high and low voltage does that mean the sensor is bad

Also is their a thread that has all the proper reading for this car. I just got this car and want to Visit my son that 175 miles away RT 350 and i just want to make sure this car is dependable my last one would only do 50 on the flat highway and 45 going up a incline haven't seen him in a few years since he went to collage at KU

The car seems to run OK and i only need to change the front tires
