How long to read and reset ECU?
My SES came on 4 days ago. I go to the dealer for a check and ask if they can read / reset the ECU. I think it's a gas cap. It was way loose when I tanked 3 days ago.
The dealer tells me 2 hours to setup and "download" the info. Why do I feel like I am being greased for a major pipe laying job?
How long does it take to hook up an ODB-2 reader, get the code and reset the ECU?
My guess would be that a mechanic with the talent of an autistic cockroach should be able to do it under 300 seconds, from opening hood to closing hood.

Now, if you only lived around Montreal or Ottawa!
I must say that the mechanic was good though. I explained what happened and he said next time I bring it back, the light would be gone. I would 1) like to get it gone faster than that and more importantly 2) make sure something REALLY isn't wrong. She's running fine though.
It's 10 celcius, it's about to rain. I am washing my car!
