I lost all three times (My mods are listed below)

He is manual....I am auto.....1/4 mile race.

First race: lost by 1/2 a car length. I had a great launch and his
was pretty good too.

Second Race: lost by 2 car lengths...... bad launch on my part.

Third Race: lost by one car length......we both launched off the
line perfectly.

In each race the manual 328 jumped ahead in first, I gained a little
ground in second, but when I hit third gear the bimmer is still
in second and he proceeds to walk me to the finish line.

F*ck!!!!!!!


Do you guys think I'll be able to take him after I get a custom-b
and an aftermarket Y?

Any auto owners able to beat a manual '01 328?
How about you guys with manaul tranny's?

no 328's made starting from 2000...they're 330's...who are you kidding, you're racing against a lighter high-performance car with manual tranny?

 

Yes if it was an '01 it was a 330i. I think you were racing an elder 328i because you would have lost much worse against a 330i...

if he is manaul, you can't do ****tt about it.

auto's 2k/2k1 maxes loose another 20hp at wheels cuz of the retard tranny....you need those hp's and a faster shifting with a manual.when you have that, you have a lot of chances to beat him but other then that, you'll need all bolt ons and a lot of $$$ to stay with him cuz he has the biggest advantage...MANAUL

 

I raced a 330i manual on the street. I got a good launch on him, but I was able to pull away slowly. In 3 blocks, I had him by 1/2 car lenght. You need to get your y-pipe and VB mod. That will help u alot.

 

dude, did you see how much money and mods you invested in your car? no wonder you'll be able to beat them 330's but we are talking here lightly modded or stock form

The 330/328 isnt fast in a straight line. Take some turns or stomp on the brakes and thats where the car really shines.
