Any 5th Gen willing to donate their HOOD???

For those who are interested in buying a Fiber Images carbon fiber hood I need a fellow max owner (5th Gen) that is willing to donate thier factory hood and in return they will receive a free carbon fiber hood from Fiber Images...I just spoke to them and if we can get 10 buyers (11 including me) they will reduce the price from $699 to $550 + shipping. But the only way that they will make the mold for our cars is if we get at least 11 hood buy in. If anyone is interested please let me know and as soon as I get 10 fellow max owners that are SERIOUS buyers and I do stress the serious part...then Ill go ahead and place the order for our hoods.. You can either PM me or email me at jhans114@msn.com

Thanks guys,
Pablo

What do they look like?

Just copies of current hood or some vent, bulge, etc. approach?

The hood will be an OEM replica but in Carbon Fiber, no vents. If you want to make it custom it will cost somewhere around $799. Dont think anyone wants to cough up that much $$$ for a hood..but I could be wrong

Where is the donation needed at? If it's close to GA, I'd be willing to drive around with no hood for a while . Seriously, I would be willing to do this, my hood is undamaged too.

Now we need people that are willing to buy the hood, I see that we have 2 potential donors, so now we need 9 people that want to purchase the hood. Please email me a name and contact number to all serious inquiries. As soon as I have the 11 potential buyers I will personally contact everyone so that we could get this ball rolling. Thanks

I don't think I'll have money to get in on this GD. So is this gonna be a one time deal or are the hoods still gonna be produced later? I know they'll be more $$$ if they are but I'll deal with that later.

Anyways, Does anyone know the weight of the stock hood? I know the CF hood won't make my car lightweight, but every little bit helps.

You seem to be in a rush to get this together. This is actually a good thing. Your doing the rest of us a favor for getting a mold made. Thanks for putting this together. Ever since I bought the Max I've been dreamin about a carbon fiber hood.

It's not likely that I'll have the cash in time to catch this deal. If any of you guys want to do this later on...I'm in.

They're in the digicam. I didn't get to take a good pic because it was rainy today... also, my oil line to the oil cooler busted so I had to replace that.

Will the carbon fiber hoods use the stock mechanisms, or will we need hood pins?

Willing to get, but honestly would like to see before a purchase. I've seen too many fitment issues, inconsistent CF weaves, and terrible top coats. I know FI is a reputable company, but I know for some reason, the first batches are usually a PITA. If the Hood looks good, has great feedback, I pay whatever amount it is.

You will need hoodpins, better to be safe than sorry.
GD that now
