30K service

I checked with 2 local dealers and both charge around $350 for the 30K service\tune-up. Is it worth it to get the service? Turns out I need a tire rotation and oil change right now, and the service takes care of both.

But I also need new struts and instead of paying for the tune-up I could pay $100 more and get the KYB AGXs from Cattman.

I believe mine was around $250, not quite sure, but definetly less than $300 for the 30K tune up. BTW, I live in So. Cal

I'm in Texas. Must be some sort of surcharge since the mechanics have to work in sweltering heat plus humidity.

For $350, the dealer must be doin' his own thing. The warranty booklet doesn't call for anything near that much.

Find out exactly what he does and ask yourself if it's worth it to you. I can usually do anything they would do myself on a Saturday morning, and have a little fun doing it.

By the way... why do you need new struts at 30K? They shouldn't be bad... but if you just want the Cattman's struts... oh yeah.

The 30k service interval... anyone had their dealership include the fuel injector service at this point?

Under further questioning, you'd think they would pull the injectors and do a pressure flush to restore them, but NOPE, they just dump a bottle of STP fuel-injector treatment into the tank. And charge $35 for it.

I've found that there's nothing at the 30k that you can't do yourself. So save yourself the bucks and have Y2KSE's muffler guy put a custom muffler on your ride.

Well, I checked with two dealers and both listed $350 for the 30K service. Not sure what all they do, but a loaner car is included.

I've had 18" wheels and low-profile tires for 8 months now and the ride quality has been fine. Lately though, I've noticed the ride is getting a little bumpy and less sure-footed. Also, I have 5" wheel gap in the front

My dealer does recommend the fuel injection service at this point, but it's not included in the $200 dollar service write up. I believe it's an extra $119 to add it on, and they do a full fuel injection, not a bottle of STP, but that price is just way too high. Probably time to consider Y2KSE's muffler guy with the extra money. Where is he located?
