I have a 2K Max and a stupid tree branch fell on my car and put 3 big dints into my hood. I got it quoted and they said it would be 300 for the new stock hood and 300 more for service and paint. Are there any aftermarket hoods available for the 2K? Mainly something with scoops. Any info would be great.

Carbon fiber!!

I was talking to a company in SoCal that makes carbon fiber hoods for hondas and others.... They don't have a Maxima hood, but are willing to make one for about 550.00, and it's very likely that you would be able to use the latch and hinges from your factory hood.... They just need a hood to make the mold so if NE1 is interested e-mail me and we will work out a deal with spliting the cost of a new hood for them to use it for a mold.... (2weeks)... and if we can get about 10 people interested they will drop the price to 525.00.. Carbon fiber hoods kick ***.

Carbon fiber...

It's actual fibers woven together held with epoxy... They make a super light and strong panel... all CART and F1 racing cars are made of carbon fiber. I don't know exactly what the stock hood weighs (I estimate about 60-80 lbs) but the carbon fiber hoods weigh about 12-20 lbs. It will make your car lighter.. thus faster.... and handle better (less weight on the front). Plus it looks killer.

Whats wrong with a Hood scoop

Oh yeah the original question. Check your local junkyard for prices on hoods, U might fine one already the color of your car.
