The Max has been an awesome car, but a fateful turn of events has resulted in me getting rid of it. This weekend the opportunity arose to get a 2000 Ford SVT Lightning for $3000 below sticker and 0% financing. Only an idiot would turn that down if he could afford it IMHO. Anyways, that's the fourth new vehicle in the past year and the Max is the odd car out. I purchased it new to be my "toy". I already have Eibachs and the Stillen RSB installed, and the Stillen FSTB and RSTB are in their boxes new as is the Cattman Y-pipe from the group deal a while back. I was planning on SCing the Max in the Spring, though concerns with the V2 had me looking at nitrous recently. I have to be honest though, after driving the Lightning any desire to mod a Max is pretty much done. And in truth it was the black paint job that really did the car in. That and the question of the 260hp 3.5L motor popping up in the near future.

The good news is that I will be getting another Maxima, probably a 2001 5spd SE Anniv. in Icelandic Pearl or Sterling Mist....something I can reasonably maintain as a daily driver. I'll stick the suspension parts on it, maybe put the Y-pipe on (or sell it to someone lurking around here), and be done with it.

Just wanted to drop by and say thanks to all who have provided information to me in the past when trying to decide on aftermarket parts or just plain figure something out. This list is miles ahead of anything I have come across for Lightning owners yet. We have several good forums for Lightnings, but the quality of this one really stands out amongst those I have frequented.

P.S. If anyone is interested in a 2000 Black 5 spd. with about 2500 miles on it that has been babied since new let me know. I'll stick it in the for sale forum or whatever in the next couple of days with pictures and such. I'm not giving it away, but if you're seriously in the market it'll be a good deal.
