What is that giant canister in the exhuast? 2k2

I was looking under my 2k2 the other night and saw what looks like a huge resonator behind the cat. I just want to make sure its not another catylitic converter before I have it cut off. I was just thinking about replacing it with a piece of pipe. Looks like it might save some weight and release a hp or two. What do you guys think?

Oh, that would be the huge resonator part of your exhaust. Commonly known as the huge resonator.

So, no, it is not another cat.

Go for it! It won't release any horsepower, but it will make your Max sound a little meaner.

Ive had the resonator taken off my 200 Max. It did not add horsepower but it did add some GROWL to the exhaust. I have a Stillen intake and a Magnaflow muffler to complete the setup. It sounds very nice
