Red LED Bulbs!

I still have not seen a post with someone saying these are the best red bulbs for the clear corners! With all the bulbs out there you would think that someone came across a real red one. I have Polarg and I think they are too pink. Come on, someone has to have an answer!

about 2 more hours til darkness. then we'll see how they are. but in the daylight, when i turn on the lights, the stock red bulbs illuminate brighter than the one red LED i got from midnightmoose.com. so the rear driver side is stock still (i left it so i can compare) and the rear passenger side is the midnightmoose.com red LED bulb. i'll let you guys know how it goes.

yeah, i bought them cuz you suggested them!

its not completely dark yet, probably 20 min, still have to wait and see. did you happen to see what the LED bulbs were? mine has a bunch of japanese writing on it and the only thing in english is:

MAX™ HIGH INTENSITY BULB
MINIMAX

either way, maybe we just have different opinions on what looks "good." the clears on leftcoasts car, the light actually look RED? or are they light red (pinkish)? i think the lenses on the clears diffuse the light too much. its hard to get a strong color through them... maybe if i go higher wattage?

wait till the night. the led bulbs don't fare too well with ambient light. you'll need them most at night anyhow.

Ok here is the scoop on the red led's.I got mine from Midnightmoose also. When there is any light out(ambient)they do not show up very well.Only the red blub itself can be seen but the light does not fill up the rest of the lense. When its dark out they are great.Just as red as the stock red lenses.I wish they were a little brighter for the ambient light situation but im happy with them for now.Hope this helps.

LOL So you are saying that they look stock (color amber/red) at night but are useless during the day...?

Moose Leds are the best so far, they are still slightly pink though, better than polargs, I am considering lightly spraying the leds with red paint that light shines through, any thoughts?
thanks,
Jason

okay, i just went out and checked. the stock bulb color is more pinkish, less red, and the light fills the whole lens. the LED bulb were a good shade red, the color i wanted, only, it does not fill the whole lens! it only fills about half or so of it! regardless, i prefer the color of the LED bulb, so ive switched last remaining stock bulb out for the other LED.

this is my first "mod" and i dont really know how theyre "supposed" to look or even if theyre supposed to look any which way at all. overall, i guess the LED bulbs are alright. while they dont fill up the whole lens the color is the color i want.

n.b.
the LED red gives off a darker red than the red given off by the taillights!

hope this helped.

the regular LED red bulbs from Midnight moose are totally fine i think (in my opinion). Someone said they are pinker than the stock bulbs and I totally disagree. The LEDs are harder to notice especially if you drive by a car at night and try to spot ur lights off them. I have seen the blue extra brightness LEDs cuz my friend has them, nothing really special, just a bit brighter.

Hard to compare!!

It is hard to compare the Moose LEDs to stock, the stock bulbs are clear that shine through a Red Lense and no the LEDs are not more red than the Stock lense combo, they still have a pinker tint than the stockers. I said these LEDs are the closest to stock I have tried and let me tell you I have tried 4, yes thats right, 4 sets of bulbs. Polargs are the pinkest in terms of color. Any ideas on what else to try????

This not a flame just a person trying to find a more red bulb!!!

i just realized my mistake, this whole time ive been referring to the bulbs in my rear clears as "stock." they are not, they are red bulbs which came with my clear markers. i have all clears installed and was installed red bulb (that i mistakenly referred to as stock) vs. LED bulb (midnightmoose). in light of this information, my above posts may make a little more sense.

if anything, i would try the 4 bulb red LED on autodynamic.com mentioned by BlackMax2k1. heres some pics:

regular red LED

4 bulb red LED; they advertise "EXTRA BRIGHTNESS"

I have those 4 point LEDS in Amber in the front clears. In my opinion, they are not as great as you think. I have regular BLUE LED's in my front driver and passenger doors, and in my opinion, those are brighter than the 4 point ones....
