KEV!! U have to admit........

that u could of bought a M3 with the amount of money that has gone into your car!!??!!

Personally, i would never do that and admire your courage and dedication to the car. I think the max is a wonderful car for its price, but i would be pi$$ed if i spend the equavalent of a M3 and the M3 is still faster and a better car. If i didnt own a max, i would say u are crazy or just plain not thinking with ur head. But then again, we wouldnt all be here, if it werent for people like u.

Sorry, i was going thru ur specs to see if it would be worth while for me to get an SC, and just realize these facts.

I thought you had a supercharger?? You Have "Kompressor" in your signature,everyone knows mercedies with the supercharger have kompressor on em. I dont think Kev has spent 50 thousand on his Maxima...yet. The M3 has a 1/4 time of a low-low 13 maybe highh 12. Im assuming thats where Kevin is at with his hp.

50K? No way...

I can probably hang around an M3 (E46), but when it comes down to twisties.... no can do. I would rather spent 50K on a used Supra TT with mods than an M3.

i'd rather have 4 doors and be able to hang with an M3 than to have 2 doors and blow it away. i dont think i'll ever own a 2 door car in my life unless i'm really rich and i want something sporty to be parked next to my S55 AMG or my M5...or both

People always think that you spent more than you really have to do to labor costs. I wish people would realize that most mods can be done at home. You don't need to spend 73 dollars an hour on installs.

I charge a bag of Flamin' Hot Cheetos and a six pack of A&W Cream Soda... of course, this depends on the difficulty of the install.

Does that include fine tuning? I would be willing to up the ante to TWO 6packs of A&W and TWO bags of Cheetos. I just require you to work downwind from me....

Agree!!

Advantages of Maxima (Kevin's) over M3

* Proven history of great engine. Made it to Ward's 10 best engines 8 yrs in a row (only engine to do so )
http://www.industryclick.com/microsi...id=50&srtype=1
* Bigger, more comfortable
* 4 doors
* Modified Maxima is more unique then a Stock M3. Anyone (with $$$) can by an M3 and there are many of them around; not everyone has the time, drive or courage to modify a Max and rarely do you see a SC Max.
* Possibly cheaper and just as fast as the M3.

Lets wait until there is a SC or turbo for the 2002 6spd Max. If a 6spd Max had the mods Kevin has I am pretty sure it could take an M3 or practically any stock car.

One question... Is a Level10 tranny rebuild "almost" or "near" as fast a a 6spd? (dont reply with quality issue comments, just wondering in speed)

The tranny will shift faster than a person if that's what you're talking about.

Notice how 2k2 automagics are fairly close in 1/4 times compared to manuals (not like the 2k-2k1's)?

We can't do anything about turns. :-(

Its almost funny some of you even compared the M3 with a maxima. Personally, i'll never race Kev in a M3 if i dont know the guy.

So Kev, how much have u put down on ur car, thats my question. The SC and the wheels alone should approach 10K right??
