Nitto Tires?

Well its spring so its time for me to start looking for wheels and tires. Im set on getting Mille Miglia Evo 5's...most likely 17". Im thinking about Nitto NT450 Extremes for tires. Anybody have any input on these tires. I had them on my old Eclipse and loved them but not enough miles to really have an opinion...any input would be appreciated!

Not sure how the 450s differ from the 555s, but the 555s are pretty bad in the rain. I drive 65mph in medium rain while most people drive 45mph, and I feel a little insecure as far as traction. They just don't feel like they're gripping the road very well when its wet out. I managed to go through a foot of standing water at 50mph and I didn't hydroplane or anything, so they aren't the worst either.

Yep..I agree. They are great on dry smooth surfaces, but when it rains...look out. I spun out once when I driving 65-70 mph. Other than that, its all good.

I have them. I was reading literiture on my tires (NT-450s) they are Z-rated top speed on these tires are 168mph. I've done 140mph without the car sliding or budging off the road. But my car also has STILLEN FSTB RSTB and RSB. The tires are very reliable. I love them, when i upgrade to 2K2 rims i will wrap them in the NT-450s again.

I had the NT450's on my old Civic EX with 16" rims and I really liked them. The tires were a little noisy, but not too loud, gripped really well in the dry and didn't burn out fast. I also did not have any problems in the rain with these tires. The only issue I had was when I went through a really bad pot hole and damaged the side wall of one of the tires which caused a bulge and meant I needed to replace the tire. If I remember correcly, I was running a 40 series on a 16" rim.

I got 450's now and when it comes time to get new rubber i think i'm gonna roll w/ pilot sport a/s. remember, you get what you pay for. the nittos were alright at first but they don't help me out enough in the rain. they let go just a little too easily. when it's dry they're gravy. i don't know if it'll justify the price difference for you but it kinda does for me.

I have 450s

They are good tires, in the wet they are ok in straight scenarios, but going on off ramps you need to let off the throttle or they slide. I would recommend them on RE-92s anyday. I think I will get Michelins next, we will see, I have along time to go.

I've got 215/55R16 Nitto 450s on my wife's GXE. She's only had them on for about 2,000 miles. But so far, so good. My mechanic swears by them. He says they wear like iron. They are a little noisier than her OEM Toyos were, however. And I can't tell you how they perform in wet weather. We don't seem to get any around here.

I've had Nitto 450's on mine now for about 20K miles. Good performance, look good, good wear so far, but LOUD!!! They tend to cuff really bad even though I rotate them about every 5000 miles.
