Suspension question on 2002 SE...

My suspension is very noisy on my 2002 SE,
My car is only two months old and I hate how it makes all sort of sounds when I hits bumps on the road.

My 2000 SE which I used to have, I thought drove better. At least I remember I didn't hear so many noises comming from the suspension.

I know that for 2002 SE they changed the shocks compared to 2000-2001 SE model.

Also, I feel the Pontenzas are very noisy, maybe that is why hear all that noise comming when I hit bumps on the road.

Have anybody noticed some excesive suspension noises on 2002 SE?

Very odd. My 2002 SE is perfectly quiet. Sounds nice and tight and even though there are probably quieter tires than the Potenzas I've been pleasantly surprised by them. Sounds like it needs to go back to the dealer for a checkup.
Perhaps it's a problem with the FSTB installation.

My sentiments exactly.... My car is not only the quietest riding car I've owned, but it's probably the quietest ride I've been in.

The first thing I'd look at is those shi##y potenzas. They may be over-inflated. Mine were under-inflated (20 lbs) at delivery.

suspension noise

You should really qualify your statements. Is the suspension noisy with the windows open or closed? Are we talking about speed bumps or pot holes?

The Potenzas are somewhat noisy. I don't know if the 2K's use similar tires to the 2K2's. A tire with a larger tire patch could sound louder.

I would expect the suspension dynamics of the 2K's to be very similar to the 2K2's. Presumably there is more weight in the fron on the 2K2's with a different engine, so that might account for some of the difference. But when I contrast my 02SE with my 89SE, I'd say that the suspension noise was quieter on my 02 (although I usually run with the windows closed). Hope this helps.

Re: suspension noise

Yeah, the noises are mostly when I go over pot holes and small bumps on the road.
Seems like most of the noises are comming from the back. I think combination of noisy Potenzas and Rear Beam makes going over small bumps and pot holes on the road noisy.

I will check what my tires are set to. When I took delivery the tires were all set over 40psi. I made them all like 35 I think. I will check again what are they set to now.
