I just bought a 2k2 Maxima and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get some 20th AE taillights. I would like to buy them soon. If anyone has an extra set, or would like to get rid of theirs, I would ask you to pm me for a sale or possibly a trade of some sort. Please let me know. Thanks!

 

Whats different about AE tail lights? Are you looking for SE tail lights?

 

AE taillights do not have amber in them and they are smoked.

 

all the 2k-2k1 SE and AE r having smoked tail lights.

 

yup. all 2k-2k1 SEs come with the carbon look w/ red/clear tail lamps. the AE's are no different than the other SE's.

Well, as you can tell, I'm pretty new to Maximas, so I was unaware that all 2k1 models came with it...well, I guess that will widen my search area! That's good news....

Those lights are SWEET! Are those stock?

 

just the SE's and AE's...GXE and GLE are all red where the others are smoked...

I think he had the stock lights and had a shop paint them...I like the looks too, but with a black car, mine are already pretty close to body colored...

 

I actually don't mind the chrome so much..it's really the amber. I HATE AMBER. All my previous cars, I have cleared all amber out of all my lights. And this looks a little too difficult to do by myself. So, I figured that I would just look for a pair with the amber taken out already...
P.S. WHAT WAS NISSAN THINKING WHEN THEY PUT THE AMBERS BACK IN?!

 

Can anyone tell me if the 2001 model had 2 types of taillights? I've been told that there is one with a black housing, and one with a carbon fiber housing. Any ideas? Or are they the same? Thanks!

GXE/GLE: All red housing around the lamps
SE/AE: A more smoked out looking plastic...not all black, not really a carbon fiber look...but the SE and AE ARE the same...

I think your wrong. Their are minor differences. I have also noticed that not all 2k-2k1 SEs came with the carbon look. I have an AE.

Is that front bumper photo shopped or real. If it's photo shopped you did a damn good job.

 

All 2000-2001 SE models are supposed to come with the blacked-out/smoked/carbon-look tail lamps. those that do not have them were probably swapped by the dealer or after purchace. what minor differences are there between the regular SE and AE SE tail lamps? i believe that they even have the same part number.

yup. it's photoshopped.

 

SE and AE tail lights are the same. Both have the carbon fiber/smoked tint with the clear turning signal lense (with an orange bulb, stock). Here are my tails, I like them better
